My Fall Front Porch (Finally!)

Hello, friends!  It's practically Halloween and I haven't shared my porch yet!  Actually, I'm not a Halloween girl... so the most that might get added to this would be a fuzzy felt spider and a plug-in jack o'lantern. My peeps are no longer interested in carving pumpkins... in fact, they'll all be "hanging out" with friends and not trick-or-treating tomorrow night.  The hubs will be out as well, so it looks like me, my bowl of candy, and my … [Read more...]

Country Living Fair 2013

Y'all.  What a great - busy fun - weekend we had! Some long time friends came in town and the girls spent Saturday taking in the Country Living Fair at Stone Mountain! Let me just say, if you ever get the chance to take this in... DO IT!  We were blessed with a beautiful day and were amazed at the scope of this event! If this tower of pumpkins and gourds doesn't put you in the fall spirit, I don't know what will! If you … [Read more...]

This ‘n That Tuesday

I have re-entry issues. :)  When I travel on the weekends, Mondays are always a challenge -- laundry, grocery shopping, mail, email, and... oh yeah -- work!  Yikes! Last weekend was totally worth it, though.  If you follow me on Instagram, you got some peeks at our fun at the Auburn v. Texas A&M game and time with my family.  I'll be sharing some more photos later this week when I get them off my camera (!), but suffice to say it was an … [Read more...]

Fall in the Kitchen

Hump Daaa-aaayy!    Had to go there... :)  Before I launch into lots of photos of my kitchen fall decor, I have to share this preschool funny from Monday... In honor of Columbus Day, we were discussing Christopher Columbus and his journey across the Atlantic Ocean.  The children's book I have about Christopher Columbus has an illustration of him at his desk, with a map, compass, hour glass, and armillary sphere.  Of course there were questions … [Read more...]

Fall in the Family Room

Is it already Monday?  The weekend just flew by, but we got some amazing family time celebrating my mother-in-law's 80th birthday... how cute is she? I hope I look half that good at 80!  It was a fun weekend, and my boy even achieved a hat trick in his soccer game -- winning weekend for the Miltons! Today I'm sharing my fall decor in the family room.  After painting several pumpkins and adding them to  some I spraypainted a couple of … [Read more...]

Fall in the Foyer

Finally Friday!  I had two glorious furlough days early in the week and it was great to catch up on a few things around the house and put some finishing touches on my fall decor.   I sure do love to have a day or two to just piddle around the house every so often... :)  We've got a super busy weekend ahead celebrating my MIL's 80th birthday, a houseful of guests, soccer games, and other to-do's, but the weather will be awesome and we intend to … [Read more...]

Tasty Tailgate Treat: Baked Artichoke Dip

First of all, Y'ALL ROCK. SERIOUSLY. Our (in)Mercy Classroom Addition was fully funded by 3:30 yesterday afternoon.   God is good and His mercy showed through each and every one of you that contributed in some way to this project. Look at these faces... these girls who will have opportunities anew now.   I'm seriously in awe and so humbled to have shared the need and the story!  There is more work to do for Mercy House … [Read more...]

(in)Mercy Phase 2 {And My Kenyan Connection}

Happy Monday and what a blessed way to start the week!  I enjoyed time with friends and my kids this weekend -- and even squeezed in a much-needed nap.  :)  And there's a spring in my step and in my fingers as I type this because....Phase 2 of (in)Mercy is officially underway, as of today!  Did you watch the video about the beginnings of Mercy House?  We, in our comfortable homes behind our computer screens, probably have a hard time wrapping … [Read more...]

DIY Monogram Pumpkin

A couple of weeks ago, I went on a pumpkin painting tear.  If you follow me on Instagram you were witness to it all. :)  It's no secret that I'm no fan of bright orange pumpkins but I love the different shapes and sizes and the way pumpkins just speak of fall.  So I pulled out my chalk paint and some brushes and got to work on a selection of  faux pumpkins to use in decorating my booth for fall. I used Annie Sloan chalk paints in Old … [Read more...]
