A Look Back at 2013

Now that my chicks are back in the nest and we've had our little Christmas together, I can hardly believe 2013 is on its way out the door. It's been a year of highs and lows for my family, but God has been faithful and has grown all of us in unimaginable ways.  We're all looking forward to 2014 and I've been pondering that over the last week or so.    My home and personal goals are slowly crystalizing and I'll be sharing those here soon, along … [Read more...]

Afterward…

Hello, friends!  I hope you've been enjoying your Christmas week! The hubs and I celebrated a lovely Christmas with my in-laws in South Georgia and I returned home yesterday, while he headed to a duck blind somewhere in Arkansas to finish off his holiday. :) If you follow me on Instagram, you got a peek at a few fun things from our week, including the wild turkeys that my MIL feeds just outside her back yard fence!  Once I recovered from the … [Read more...]

Christmas Home Tour 2013

Greetings, friends!  I'm here to share (at long last) my home tour of Christmas decor.    I had every intention of sharing this with you much sooner, along with a couple of easy projects, but God had other plans for me.   He found numerous ways to remind me that the season is not about the perfectly decorated front porch or the home that's completely pulled together for the holidays.  I shared a little of this over on Fancy Little Things on … [Read more...]

Vase Filler Ornaments {DIY}

Good morning, friends.  Before I share this simple DIY, could I just ask for your prayers?  I'm greeting this last week of school before the holiday break with a heavy heart.  Troubling news of loss, illness, and setbacks has come our way from a variety of fronts and we are feeling overwhelmed with the pain, suffering, and struggles of those close to us and our own helplessness.   My prayer list is lengthy these days... Last weekend, we were … [Read more...]

Christmas Mantel 2013

Happy Wednesday, y'all.  I'm trying really hard not to hit the panic button about all the packages left to wrap and ship... doesn't it figure that the week I need to get everything out is the week that all my peeps come home, soccer physicals must happen, dentist appointments all around, teacher dinner preparations, etc are all converging on the few days that comprise this week? Yowza.  There is still not a single ornament on my tree. And … [Read more...]

Finish Your Shopping: Gift Ideas

Hey there, gang... first of all:  WAR EAGLE!  We've had so much fun watching Auburn play this year and my Auburn Tiger husband is one happy camper right now!  And since today is also his 55th birthday, all is right in our world. :)  Happy Birthday, honey! I saw this on Facebook yesterday and so I have to share... Now, down to business... Have you finished your shopping?  I'm just a few purchases away from being finished, but since I … [Read more...]

Set the Table for a Christmas Coffee (and a Rug Giveaway!)

Much as I enjoy a festive evening party, one of my favorite ways to celebrate the season with close friends is a Christmas Coffee.  I used to do this in conjunction with my Willow House business, but the simple formula works even better for a cozy get-together with a close pal or two.  And ever since I spotted some adorable Christmas plates and mugs at Tuesday Morning, I've been itching to pull together a Christmas Coffee tablescape to share with … [Read more...]
