What I’m Reading, Working On, and Loving

Happy Wednesday, y'all!  This week has already gotten away from me... I knew I'd be busy this summer, but MAN!  We had a minor flood in our basement storage room over the weekend so I've been sorting through that mess on top of what I already had on tap for the week.  #Boo.  Anyway, I'm popping in today to share what I'm reading, working on, and loving right now... A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I'd strayed from my bookish ways and had … [Read more...]

This ‘n That Monday

Hello, friends and happy Monday to you!  I hope y'all had a great weekend.  If you follow me on Instagram or we're friends on Facebook, you probably saw the fun time we had at the Kenny Chesney concert in Auburn AL!  So fun on so many levels -- great friends, a beautiful day, a sweet ride over and back, and some AMAZING music in a happy place. Here's a few peeks... I needed this little 'getaway' for many reasons and it didn't … [Read more...]

In Case You Missed It {August}

Well, the weekend flew by, didn't it?!  I enjoyed some furniture painting and a little bit of crafting, but mostly got a few things ticked off my to-do list.  And added some more to it!  I realize it's already 8 days into September, but I thought I'd go ahead and recap August here  before I got too much further behind.  :) It seemed August was a month of updates, like my back deck... and my guest room. I also shared a couple of … [Read more...]

Back Deck Update: End of Summer

Y'all, we've had so much rain this summer, my back deck is exploding with color!  I thought I'd share, because we've so enjoyed hanging out there these past several weeks.    Just to remind you where we were at the beginning of the summer... Not bad, but now there's this... Amazing what a rug, some colorful pillows, sunshine, rain, and a little fertilizer in the pots can do! I never managed to get my furniture … [Read more...]

In Case You Missed It x2 (April and May)

Y'all I'm so far behind, I never recapped April!  And since my feed was doing wonky things in late April/early May, I figured it warranted a quick recap of both months! I finally was able to regroup a bit after the crowd of young adults left on Saturday... things will be a tad quieter here now, so I've been working on some new DIY ideas and gathering supplies for a couple of home projects (yay summertime!).  But before we embark on June, let's … [Read more...]

Back Deck Refresh!

Oh my gosh, did our winter take a toll on my back deck!!  Every plant was dead -- even the ones that will normally winter over -- and my furniture had taken a beating.  Since it's prime deck-sitting time now, this was first on my list of summer projects. :) Here's the sad sad before... Ugh. And here's the after... Ahhhh!  Much better! Here's the un-fun stuff  I did: hubs had pressure-washed a few weeks ago for … [Read more...]

This ‘n That Tuesday

My school year is rapidly drawing to a close (how did THAT happen??!) and soon I'll be welcoming both the college one and our oldest back into the fold -- busy times afoot around here!  And I lost a little ground battling that nasty head cold last week and through much of my weekend. Hence, this post. :) During my latest thrifting adventure, I stumbled on these old alphabet flash cards.   A couple of the cards were missing, but I thought … [Read more...]

DIY Paint Stirrer Herb Markers

Remember how I said I wanted a garden?  How much I enjoyed eating fresh in the summertime?  And how some generous friends shared their bounty with us?  And then there was this amazing drink and this tasty side that called for fresh herbs? Well I abandoned my other projects to put together my own little herb garden on my back deck complete with DIY herb markers... made from paint stirrers and a little chalkboard paint. This is a super … [Read more...]

Friday Eye Candy

Hi gang!  I'm rubbing elbows with all kinds of talented blogger-DIY types at Haven today -- woo hoo!!  Hopefully I'll have my wits about me enough that I'll have things to share next week (i.e. photos, nuggets of wisdom, etc).  The way my brain has been lately... well, let's hope for the best! :-) Anyhoo, I just had to share a few more pictures from our weekend at Lake Rabun.  The hydrangeas were in full bloom all around the lake and my … [Read more...]
