DIY Jute Clay Pot Wreath

Happy Hump Day, y’all!  We’re still battling rain showers here daily, so my paint projects are lagging as they have all summer… ugh!  I know there are parts of the world that are parched, so I hate to complain, but it’s become too much of a good thing this summer.  But the silver lining is that I’ve been able to complete a few “rainy day projects”!

Like this wreath…

This is such an easy DIY, but I love it for summertime and it would be so easy to tweak for fall — stay tuned for that!

I forgot to get a “before” shot of the simple styrofoam wreath form, but I’m sure you know the ones… 🙂

I simply wrapped it in jute…

and then finished off the end with a dot of hot glue.  I wrapped the whole thing in about 30 minutes while watching the Wimbledon final.  Don’t judge me — it was raining outside and I was pulling for Andy Murray. 🙂

The moss and little clay pots I picked up at Hobby Lobby in their floral department.

I only used one of each size, but you could easily add more.   The left overs will appear in other projects soon, I’m sure. 🙂

I ran a length of jute through the drainage hole in each pot, with the little one on top.

Before I attached them to the wreath, I stuffed them with moss, so the little one rested snugly in the larger one.

Then it was simple a matter of tying them tightly to the wreath with the length of jute running through them.  I added dabs of hot glue behind them just to secure them even more.

I intended to pop this into my booth but am enjoying it on my front door!

So here it will stay…

A simple touch of summer, while summer lasts. 🙂

Come back Friday for a fun giveaway — the first of a few coming your way before the weather cools off!

Enjoy your day!  I’m still fishing Euros out of my washing machine as I catch up on my boy’s laundry. 🙂
