I Can’t Resist: Threshold Thursday

Hey there, friends… I had every intention of posting more guest room progress this week, but…

Ah the joys of high school sports!  Your weekday evenings are not your own. 🙂  Truthfully, though, it’s been a blast watching him work so hard, improve his skills, have some fun and finish their season undefeated (My boy scored the final goal!).    And not only do we have a team of good players (REALLY good players), we also have a team of REALLY good kids.  The difference between the conduct of our team and that of the teams we’ve played has been eye-opening for this boy mom.  All I can say is that a lot of parents (and coaches) need to tune in to what kind of young men they are raising and the culture of profanity and dirty play they are promoting.  I’ll get off my soap box now… I’m proud of our boys.

Now as much as I’ve enjoyed being a soccer mom this week, I am so ready to get that guest room FINISHED — I walk past it several times each day and it mocks me.  My half-finished twin beds, Frog tape still on the floor, windows not washed, furniture in disarray.  Ugh.

But the bright side is that soccer is ending this week and I’ve got a lovely weekend ahead of me with not too much on the schedule, so I should be able to rock and roll!

Yesterday, I had to make a Target stop after school and before soccer.  Good news:  I had a smidge of free time before heading to my next stop.  Bad news:  I had a smidge of free time before heading to my next stop. 🙂

I try not to stop at Target when I have extra time.  It’s just downright dangerous to the budget!  But yesterday, I had graduation party preparations on the brain and decided to browse the new Threshold pieces I’ve been seeing all over the blogosphere.  They’ve done some pretty awesome ads in my shelter mags, too. 🙂

Our graduation parties are always outside and my outdoor areas are in desperate need of attention once the pollen gets outta here.  So I headed for the seasonal garden section to see what was new… and what to my wondering eyes should appear?

Outdoor poufs in fabulous fabrics?  Check.

Outdoor lighting? check.

Gorgeous outdoor throw pillows? check.

There were so many great items to spruce up your outside spaces!  Furniture, cushions, lanterns, candles, garden accessories… I got a little ADD, I must confess. 🙂

But when I tried to beeline for the register, these great pieces caught my eye, too…

These baskets would great for serving pieces on a casual buffet.

These little dip bowls (melamine, people!) had me at hello!  But I’m envisioning them on a nightstand for jewelry… um, hellllooooo guest room!

And this pitcher?  For THAT price?  It has a great ironstone look and endless possibilities.

I was practically panting by the time I got to the checkout… and a little something just happened to have jumped into my cart.

How could I possibly say no?

This is just the beginning of major outdoor perk-up.

But first, the guest room awaits. 🙂

I was not compensated in any way for sharing these Target products with you… just wanted to share something I’m excited about!  I’d love to hear what you’re excited about these days…   Happy Weekend, friends!
