I can’t believe it took me so long to discover Country Living magazine. Back in January when I was organizing my inspiration binder, I was amazed by how many images I’d pulled out of my Country Living magazines (and by how many issues I had paid retail for — duh!). Time to subscribe, no?
This past couple of weeks while I was largely unplugged, I spent a little time catching up on my shelter magazines. Do yours ever pile up on you?
When I got to May’s Country Living issue, I found myself dog-earring pages throughout. And then I had to go on their website and add a few pins to my “Our Someday Second Home” board. Like these…

Love the light and bright rusticity of this space… and I’d adorn my walls with the likes of this…

Our foyer would look something like this (boots and all)…

And I’d do a book page lampshade and number my steps like this…

Did you notice the bookshelves in the background? Great minds think alike…
Oh, and I’d paint my floors and cover them with seagrass rugs like this…

Could I have the dog, too?
Check out more photos from this beautiful North Carolina lake house and be amazed by how thrifty the genius owners were in achieving this look on countryliving.com.

I’m working on my Pass It On projects and a fun new wreath to brighten our front door this weekend (while I wait for the hubs to pressure wash all the pollen off the porch and deck). I’m thinking it’s time to revamp the mantle, too. In between soccer games, errands, church, and family time, that is. 🙂 What’s on your To Do List this weekend?
Thank you again for your prayers these past two weeks. We continue this journey of grieving and living in the midst of our grief with your love and support. It is so very much appreciated.
Have a blessed and safe weekend!

Wow! You have the makings of a fabulous second home scheme. Love your choices!
I love Country Living… everything they do is just so “homey” and cozy. It’s fun to plan and dream. 🙂
Very inspiring pictures. I love country living as well!
Make sure you take some time to stop and smell the roses. Life can get a little crazy in blog land sometimes, can’t it?
Have a great weekend, Heidi!

I love the numbered stairs, and all the white and burlap/basket/wicker/wood. So fresh and natural and just, easy. That’s it. Easy.
I have a stack of magazine pile in front of me waiting to be read, but I also have a list of blogs waiting to be visited, and you are my blog friend first:)
