Changes: Sofa Love

Hi there, friends and Happy Friday!  Back today with a fun new purchase to share -- and it's been a long time coming. :)  If you look back on my family room posts from our old house, I made no secret of how disgruntled I was with our big brown sofa. I mean, I was OVER it.  First of all, I purchased it back in 2006 when we had all five kids and two dogs at home.  It was big and comfortable and would hide all manner of sins (dog hair, … [Read more...]

This ‘n That Wednesday

Howdy!  I hope you all had great Fourth of July weekend!  I did a little bit of Legacy work and a whole lotta relaxing poolside with the hubs.  I even managed to sleep in a bit!  #holidayweekendforthewin Today I thought I'd share a little of this 'n that from the last several days.  First of all, my BFF, my Girl, and I took in Emily Giffin's launch party for her new book First Comes Love.  I'm a huge fan of her stories and she is so funny and … [Read more...]

Summertime Mantel Update

Oh my word, was last weekend HOT and BUSY!  The hubs and I had some fun together at the Steely Dan/Steve Winwood concert last night and we also celebrated my youngest' 18th birthday.  #howdidthathappen We did make some progress on the front porch, but it's not quite ready to share... we ended up in the air conditioning instead. ;-)  So I freshened up our mantel for summertime and thought I'd share that today. I wanted a new look this year and … [Read more...]

Spring Mantel and Some Easter Thoughts

I started this post yesterday, but life got in the way so here we are today!  And it's high time I share my spring mantel with you.  You got a sneak peek of it when I shared my DIY twig cross last week.  I've had this mantel in place for a couple of weeks now and love it!  But as you know... things are always subject to change around here. :) This time around I wanted a mix of metals and wood tones,  and just an overall fresh feeling.  I … [Read more...]

Simple Winter Mantel

Good Wednesday, friends!  I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's and President's Day weekend!  We're on winter break this week... well, my high school senior is on winter break. :)  It's business as usual for the rest of us!  We're weathering the winter chill so I thought I'd share my winter mantel with you today. After I took down my Christmas mantel, I was craving something very simple and natural.  And that's exactly where my mantel ended … [Read more...]

In Case You Missed It: January

Well, a few days got away from me and here we are into February!  Yikes!  If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I broke away for a girls' weekend at the beach and got the bonus fun of celebrating a dear old friend's 50th birthday at the same time.  It was a good time and now it's back to cold/rainy/busy days here at home. :) I've got a list of posts for y'all coming in the next few weeks, but thought I'd flash back to January today, just … [Read more...]

Looky What I Found…

Wednesday!  We've been in the deep freeze here in Georgia with some snow and ice predicted for later today.  It is January after all! So I've had the fire lit and I've been working away on Legacy and getting my family room ship shape.  Well, friends, you know that one thing usually leads to another!  And so now that the family room refresh is under way it's on.  I'm on a tight budget but I knew I wanted a small ottoman to accompany these new … [Read more...]

Family Room Updates (A Peek)

Happy MLK Day, friends... I hope you are off today, snuggled in with a cup of coffee or tea and enjoying yourself!  I've been taking advantage of the long weekend in a big way... catching up on Legacy to-do's, working on reorganizing my office, reading, and even sneaking in a nap or two.  I'm still kind of low energy after my illness, so I've found I still need a little extra rest.  Let's hope it's not habit forming. :) Speaking of when I was … [Read more...]

Christmas in My Home

Well.  You know when you have a plan -- a time-table -- all mapped out for getting everything done and being able to kick back and enjoy the holidays?  Yeah.  Well, that was me.  Until the flu.  I'm talking laid out in the bed can't pick your head up your kids don't see you for days flu.  Truth be told, I'm still only about 30%, but I can be upright for stretches of time, so I call that progress. My decorating had at least been started, the … [Read more...]
