Happy long weekend, friends... happy to say we're hunkered down at home just catching up on life (and sleep) a bit. We both had super busy weeks last week so we're thankful for an extra day "off". :) I've been thinking about my reading goals for this year and how my reading in 2019 was somewhat disappointing. I didn't read nearly as many books as I'd hoped and planned on and actually abandoned more books than ever. I spent more time … [Read more...]

What I Learned This Month: June

Hi friends! I'm enjoying some out-of-town time with the hubs and some dear friends this week, celebrating the 4th. It's HOT HOT HOT, but we're immersing ourselves in a spring-fed "creek"... if you follow me on Instagram you know of what I speak! I wasn't sure I'd be able to pull this post together, as I wasn't particularly intentional about taking note of things I learned last month. But after mulling it over, some things swam to the … [Read more...]

Five on Friday

Happy Friday, everyone! We had such a great week at Legacy summer camp -- lots of great crafts and activities built around our favorite books. We'll do this theme again, as everyone (kids and teachers!) seemed to LOVE it! We're keeping it light for Five on Friday this week -- just some fun things that have come on my radar in the past week! I'm in need of a new travel cosmetics case, now that I'm at the age of numerous skin care/hair … [Read more...]

Five on Friday

Happy First (Official) Day of Summer! Seems only appropriate that it would fall on a Friday, right? I see lots of late night swimming, grilling, and lightning bug catching for many of you this evening. :) I, personally, am celebrating that I managed to get three posts up this week! Let's hope it's a trend... Today I'm resurrecting the Five on Friday posts - a random collection of things that have caught my attention over the past week. … [Read more...]

Hello, Summer!

Once again, I didn't mean to be gone so long! The end of the school year got totally away from me, which led to me being brain-dead for a couple of weeks. Then my site needed some server updates so here we are -- halfway through June and a month into my summer "break." So far, it feels a little like a break, but I'm still working every day. The administrative part of running the school and Board of Directors is never ending, actually. … [Read more...]

Currently…

Hi friends, I'm having a hard time believing Easter is upon us! I don't know where the time goes, but I take comfort in knowing I'm not the only one. :) I had a nice productive/super busy Spring Break last week and then traveled to Texas for a memorial service. The bonus, of course, was spending some unexpected time with my parents, siblings, and niece/nephews. But I have to confess I am DRAGGING this week. I happen to have a weekend at … [Read more...]

What I Learned This Month… March

I seem to have lost the month of March somewhere... anybody else?? We are finally enjoying some spring-like weather here in ATL (though today will be chilly and cloudy), and the days upon days of rain are hopefully behind us! Since I last posted a lot has gone on -- some good, some not so good, but isn't that the way? We find ourselves once again in a season of change - some good, some not so good. But we persevere and try to be present and … [Read more...]

What I Learned this Month: February Edition

I'm not quite sure how we got to March so quickly - I know February is the shortest month but gee whiz! We've had the strangest weather the last few months -- excessive rain and wild temperature fluctuations. It's got me feeling unsettled as we head into spring storm season. Time to get that tornado drill done at the preschool! I tried to get this post up on Friday, but my server was down, so better late than never, right? … [Read more...]

Thoughts On… A Measured Response

Welcome to Monday, friends! I hope you're week is off to a good start! This has been rattling around in my brain lately in various forms, so I hope you'll bear with me for some thoughts. I've become acutely aware that I probably pay too much attention to the news these days. I've begun to long for the days of reading the daily newspaper and tuning in to the six o'clock news while making dinner for the family as the extent of my news … [Read more...]

Word(s) for 2019

I'm a little late to the party on a word for the year this time. Early in January I saw all manner of bloggers choosing their Word of the Year, and I have to confess I was envious. Admittedly my WOTYs are more readily apparent some years than others. Once in a while, I'll see it, read it EVERYWHERE. Sometimes it's a more drawn out process of finding it through prayer and reflection. Last year, I abandoned it all together. This year I … [Read more...]
