Five on Friday

Happy Friday, everyone! We had such a great week at Legacy summer camp -- lots of great crafts and activities built around our favorite books. We'll do this theme again, as everyone (kids and teachers!) seemed to LOVE it! We're keeping it light for Five on Friday this week -- just some fun things that have come on my radar in the past week! I'm in need of a new travel cosmetics case, now that I'm at the age of numerous skin care/hair … [Read more...]

Five on Friday

Happy First (Official) Day of Summer! Seems only appropriate that it would fall on a Friday, right? I see lots of late night swimming, grilling, and lightning bug catching for many of you this evening. :) I, personally, am celebrating that I managed to get three posts up this week! Let's hope it's a trend... Today I'm resurrecting the Five on Friday posts - a random collection of things that have caught my attention over the past week. … [Read more...]

This Summer’s Book Stack

Happy Thursday, friends! Since I'm already a third of the way through my summer "break", I thought I'd share my book stack for the season. I always look forward to stretches of time to immerse myself in a good book and summer is the best candidate for such. A few weeks ago I had the grandiose notion that I would read a book a week, and while I may still get there, it's not looking too good at this point! A few longer road trips in the … [Read more...]

Hello, Summer!

Once again, I didn't mean to be gone so long! The end of the school year got totally away from me, which led to me being brain-dead for a couple of weeks. Then my site needed some server updates so here we are -- halfway through June and a month into my summer "break." So far, it feels a little like a break, but I'm still working every day. The administrative part of running the school and Board of Directors is never ending, actually. … [Read more...]

2016: Highlights and Lowlights

Where to begin?  Now that I'm finally catching my breath a bit, it seemed like a good time to reflect on 2016 before turning the page to the new year... and I'm READY to turn the page! 2016 was the year of change around here... One of the biggest was opening our preschool after quite the journey.  This time last year I was in the midst of sharing our Legacy Story here on the blog.  But within a month or so, when Legacy was registering … [Read more...]

Life Lately…

Friends!!  It's been FOREVER since I posted!  This weekend was my first to truly catch my breath in quite a few weeks and I am so happy to be back and bringing you up to speed on life lately.  It's been a whirlwind!  But yesterday I took in some of the ceremonies and TV shows reflecting on September 11th... it's hard to believe that 15 years have passed since that terrible day.  And I still heard stories I have never heard before -- of individual … [Read more...]

Top Five in 2015

Hello, dears!  I pray you are all resting and reveling in holiday festivities with your loved ones.  It's hard to believe 2015 is almost in the books!  I thought this year would never end sometimes, and at other times it absolutely flew by with so much going on.  Maybe you feel the same?  Either way, I'm looking forward to all that 2016 holds and am spending these last days of 2015 reflecting, praying over the days to come, and contemplating my … [Read more...]

In Case You Missed It {July and August}

Well, here we are!  The last day of August... how did that happen??  This was a summer of sporadic posting, some story-telling, and a few technical issues here on the blog that I'm still trying to figure out.  May be time to call in a professional! #ugh Today I'm going to recap my posts from July and August... just in case you missed something! I shared my favorite Fourth of July projects and recipes from years past, along with this … [Read more...]

Five on Friday {Teacher Gift Edition}

Hi y'all!  Woo hoo and TGIF!  The hubs and I are headed to the lake to celebrate his birthday with friends this weekend and not a moment too soon.  While my to-do list still looms (wrapping, shipping, last minute shopping), God knew he and I needed time in a serene place this weekend.   Lots of non-holiday stress has been creeping in and I think a little time in front of a roaring fire with good friends and good food is just what the doctor … [Read more...]

Director’s Office Makeover {a Labor of Love}

I can't believe it's September, can you?  It feels like we've already been in school forever, but I'm never quite ready to give up summer.  Plus we inevitably have a heat wave in September that has you bemoaning the fact that the neighborhood pool is closed.  It's one of those weird weather months around here so I'm leery to welcome fall just yet. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement and love for us and my stepson.  It was … [Read more...]
