Before and After: End Table Makeover

Greetings, friends!  It's been a busy several days with work and our Legacy Benefit Dinner and some fun time with friends, so I am dragging this week!  It's been a while since I shared a furniture project, so I thought today was a good day to show you this end table makeover. A friend of mine {practically} gifted this pine end table to me several months ago.  It took me a while to decide how I wanted to refresh it so it sat in my garage until … [Read more...]

New Discovery: Marietta Reclamation

Hi friends!  Whew, I'm still recovering from a fun fun time in NOLA with my BFF and other assorted dear old friends.  Don't you love it when you can pick up where you left off many years ago?  And that may just have been the last of pretty fall weather I'll see for a while -- it's way too frigid today for November in Atlanta!  And I'm fighting the urge to just crawl under my covers and call in sick. ;-) Anyway, thanks for all the sweet … [Read more...]

Five on Friday

Holy smokes, y'all... tomorrow is November!    Yowza!  If you follow me on Instagram, you know I had a busy week with the Little Ones -- Halloween is so much fun for them I always feel like I'm along for their ride, at least for a couple of days. :) Anyway, I enjoyed sharing a little randomness last Friday, so I'm thinking every so often I'll offer up a Five on Friday post, just for fun.   I've been back on my painting and DIY'ing horse this … [Read more...]

Neutral Fall Mantel

I'm a little late to the fall mantel party, but I wanted to do one nonetheless;  we spent a huge amount of time in our family room when we're home and with the leaves just starting to turn outside my windows I wanted the mantel to reflect the change of season too.    This year I wanted it to be neutral with lots of texture and I think I'm there... Sorry if the photos are a little dark;  we had massive storms that blew through yesterday … [Read more...]

This ‘n That Tuesday

My school year is rapidly drawing to a close (how did THAT happen??!) and soon I'll be welcoming both the college one and our oldest back into the fold -- busy times afoot around here!  And I lost a little ground battling that nasty head cold last week and through much of my weekend. Hence, this post. :) During my latest thrifting adventure, I stumbled on these old alphabet flash cards.   A couple of the cards were missing, but I thought … [Read more...]

Easy Thrift Store Makeover: Jewelry Tree

Ah, the weekend is inching ever closer!  I have so many projects in the works, but I wanted to share a quick and easy one with you today! Last week I was cruising through my local Goodwill in search of chairs, but instead I came home with this sad little wooden mug tree... I've been itching to better organize my jewelry and I had a vision for that little $1.21 fella... A vision that looked something like this... I like having … [Read more...]

In Case You Missed It {February}…

After all the stress and angst of last week, God granted me a wonderful weekend of peace!  I was so blessed to spend Saturday with a dear friend, watching her daughter (my god daughter) play in a volleyball tournament and catching up.  Don't you love it when it's as if no time has passed since you last saw one another?  Sunday was warm and lovely and after church I spent a few hours in my yard, clipping, raking, and bagging debris from the … [Read more...]

My Latest Thrifty Finds

Well, it would seem the Atlanta Metro area has learned a lesson.  Schools were closed yesterday and today in anticipation of wintry weather yet again.  And while yesterday wasn't such a big deal with just rain and snow mixed mess, at least the roads were kept clear to prepare them for last night's blast of snow and ice.  We're hunkered down with an extra teenager or two (you knew that would happen), a full refrigerator, and wine.  Unlike last … [Read more...]

Shopping on Saturday {Thrifty Finds}

Hump Daa--ayyy!  Whew!  I shoulda buckled my seat belt on Monday morning, 'cuz this has been a doozy of a week so far.  But I wanted to pop in and show you what I found while doing a little shopping on Saturday in Dothan, Alabama.  I love to try to check out antique shops in other towns... never know what you'll find or what inspiration will come your way! Here's some things that sowed a seed of inspiration or two... A bicycle wheel … [Read more...]

Annie Sloan Graphite Transformations

Happy Friday!   And I am truly feeling the whole "TGIF" thing today! Back to school this year meant furniture for my daughter's new apartment and it was fast and furious transformations of a couple of pieces during a rainy week.  If you follow me on Instagram you glimpsed the pieces we were working on... an old dresser in my stash for the booth and a hand-me-down nightstand from a neighbor.  Since her room was going to black and white with … [Read more...]
