Today seems like a great day to share one of my favorite new acquisitions.
I picked this painting up in a little shop in Montgomery, Alabama while visiting a dear friend a couple of months ago. The artist is Donnie Sasser and he calls this one of his “Faceless Angel” paintings. There were many to choose from, but I loved the scale of this one.
Ha ha, I’ve actually moved it (during a recent “tweaking” session), but this gives you an idea of its scale.
Have you ever considered what an angel would look like? I mean the facial features? The faceless angel means it could be anybody, right? It could be you. Or it could be me. Check out Donnie’s website for more of his work and his philosophy that angels are around us each and every day.
He also does notecards and very small canvases that would make wonderful gifts for the “angel” in your life. And he’s affordable — I love when you can purchase original works of art at a reasonable price!
Note: I’ve not been compensated in any way for this post. It’s simply too wonderful not to share. 🙂
The hubs and I are headed to the lake this weekend for some family visiting and to help get our aunt’s place ship-shape for the summer season. The weather looks stunning, so I’m sure I’ll have some eye candy to share next week.
Happy Weekend, friends! What’s on your agenda??
oh my friend — this is so very sweet — i really love this piece of art — thanks for sharing…have a glorious time at the lake! sending hugs and love…
What a beautiful painting! And I can relate to the tweaking! You know we are so similar! 🙂
Sounds like a fun weekend ahead for you. My hubby will be away this weekend, again. 🙁 The little guy’s Spring break ends on Monday, and the hubs had airline trips for all but Easter Sun. Hoping to get a family vaca in soon. We have been trying to get to London for a while now. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Gorgeous painting!! I love it when you can find an original at a decent price! Have a nice weekend 🙂
ooh i love those! they are so unique!
Heidi…that is beautiful piece of art!…I do love the size too…a great size to move it here and there..and if you are like me…it will move all around the house!….She is a beauty!
Have a wonderful weekend!!
This is great, Heidi! In the Domincan Republic, they have little statuettes of women, also faceless, because of the multicultural heritage of the country–they don’t want to give them features that are predominantly caucasian, afro-centric or latino. The same with the Amish. I find it fascinating. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
