Monday again! How did that happen?
This is what I saw yesterday morning, with the sun streaming into our family room…
I love how you can see the bubbles in the glass projected on the wall. By the way, this demijohn is a Willow House product, our Lady Jane Bottleneck vase, available HERE. I love mine.
Last week, I had the happy surprise of being awarded this…
Sweet Lisa of Budget Design Girl passed this honor on to me!! If you haven’t visited Lisa, definitely head her way — she has an eclectic aesthetic that will make you see ordinary items in a whole new way. She’s a self-described globe trotter, antique store troller, and collector, but she’s also a stay-at-home mommy and cancer survivor. You’ll oooo and ahhhh and laugh your way through her posts. She’s awesome! And generous…
And now I get to pay this forward — don’t you love being able to do that?? The idea behind this award is to support and encourage newer bloggers that are building their followers. Even though I’ve been blogging for 2 years, I feel like my blog is just now becoming more of what I’d like it to be — a true reflection of my taste, design aesthetic, and passions. And it’s fun.
So I spent a couple of hours over the weekend reading through blogs and of course I came up with waayyy more than 5 bloggers deserving of this award. But I whittled it down, knowing that they, too, will be spreading the love to 5 each… and so on… and so on. {Reminds me of that old Breck shampoo commercial: “and she told 2 friends, and she told 2 friends, and so on, and so on… but I digress!}. I hope you take the time to pop by each of these blogs if you’re not familiar with them. You won’t regret it!
Camille at the Vintique Object… I’ve followed Camille for some time now and she’s a faithful visitor at Decor & More. She is a creative mastermind, covering interior design, flower arranging, photography… even living in style with kids and pets!! Talk about seeing things in a whole new way! She has transformed how I view interior photography and how I take pictures for my blog — just with simple tips (because Lord knows, I am no photographer!)!
Kirby @ Kirb Appeal… I just recently discovered Kirby and she is such a bright spot in the blogosphere! She’s got a quirky sense of humor, speaks her mind, shares cool DIY projects, and is just in general pretty wonderful. I love that she’s an educator, too; I think good and gifted educators are so underappreciated in our culture. So pop over and cheer her for me!
Karah @ The Space Between… You will instantly be jealous when you meet Karah — she’s incredibly cute, living on the island of Curacao, and one of the sweetest gals you can imagine. But she’s also a seasoned renovator, talented DIY’er, and a darn good photographer! Her posts are like a vacation by themselves… so you’ll get over the jealousy and just flat out love her. Promise. 🙂
Kelly @ View Along the Way… Hands down, the cutest little pregnant gal I’ve ever seen! Besides that, she’s a part-time PR guru, mommy to one cutie-patootey little guy, and wife to a woodworking genius (isn’t that every home blogger’s dream? to have a handy husband??). Kelly is taking her foreclosure from drab to fab on a shoe string budget and she is AMAZING! Tons of great inspiration at her space… tell her I sent you. 🙂
Shirley @ Housepitality Designs… Shirley is one wonderful blogger — AND she’s a trained interior designer! I love her approachable style and the variety of topics she blogs about — it’s never dull over at Housepitality Designs. She’s either baking a cake, sharing about her adorable granddaughter, working on DIY projects and crafts… always something! Her blog is a bright spot in my day, so it’s only fitting I share this with her.
I love that this award made me really look at the bloggers I enjoy and think about WHY I enjoy them. We all have something different to say, something to add to the dialogue out there, something that is uniquely and wonderfully ours. And at the end of the day, we all blog and share because we love it, and we love the community around us. I’m so blessed to pass this award on — I could honestly give it to each and every one of you.
Have a blessed and happy Monday! I’m painting my kitchen, so be prepared… 🙂
Thanks so much, Heidi! You are too kind!
I will get on this when I take my “break” from lesson planning today; it will be a nice distraction. (And I love those bubbles in the glass, too.)
Hey Heidi…what a surprise!…I was contacted by Lisa and I need to gather my thoughts and “pay it forward, pass it on”….
The blogs you mentioned are wonderful…incredibly talented people out there who I am in total awe of…You are kind and thoughtful to include me and I enjoy your blog so very much.
I am pleasantly surprised of all the kindness out there in blogland…It has been a truly amazing journey for me and I am so glad that I “joined in”..
Wow! You said some awfully sweet things about me…I am very flattered! You are awesome, and I love today’s sunlit photo!
