Hi everyone! Hoping you had a marvelous Easter weekend with family and friends, and maybe a little time for relaxing. 🙂
We celebrated my girl’s 19th birthday in addition to Easter, so it was a busy one for us, but a joyous one for sure. I did slip out for a bit on Saturday while she was lunching with friends and made a quick run through Queen of Hearts Antiques. I still had a little birthday money burning a hole in my pocket and I had my eye on a little hotel silver piece that’s been languishing on a back shelf over there for some months.
Well, lucky me, she was even marked down this time, so she came home with me…
I promise I’ll take some better pics of this little lady and share soon! She’s stamped “The Commodore 1917” on the bottom and has all kinds of interesting pits in her finish. I’m still learning about all the various silver stamps and abbreviations, so I’m not sure what hers mean, but it’s a shield with an anchor in the center and the initials “G M Co” above it and “E P” below it. And of course a number along with “10 oz” there, too. This one will be fun to research!
And because she was marked down, I picked up this lonesome little piece, too.
This little Reed & Barton footed tray looks so intriguing! I need to find a magnifying glass to see what’s stamped on her backside, but the miniature figureheads on each end are fascinating. I’m picturing this little piece as the perfect catch-all for jewelry or make-up brushes on a vanity. I will have to polish it up a bit to see all the details…
Again, sorry for the crappy photos (Iphone — my camera battery was dead), but do you see what I mean?
In fact, I have quite a few pieces that use a little polishing. I do love me some tarnish, so I won’t polish anything perfectly, don’t worry!
Have you found anything fun and thrifty lately? Do share!
Happy Monday. 🙂

Hm, I’ve never been to Queen of Hearts Antiques… that sure is one nifty little bit of silver you got there. Next trip down that way I’ll have to check it out.
Now I’m itching to go thrifting. Love your finds!
Really great finds! And happy birthday to your girlie. 🙂
I love old tarnished silver. Nice finds.
Great finds. I love pieces like that and always get excited when I find them – especially if the price is right!
I would say you scored! Great stuff. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
