Happy Monday, everyone! Spring finally sprung over the weekend and I’ve been a busy bee around here! The fun has begun on the guest room (woo hoo) and I got my garage a little more organized over the weekend (thank goodness!). Lo and behold, the car even got washed… amazing what you can accomplish with some good weather. 🙂
Follow me on Instagram for updates and sneak peeks in the guest room this week!
Since there’s so much in progress around here right now, I thought I’d share what I’ve been reading lately… yes, I do actually have time to read occasionally. 🙂 I like a variety and I’m usually reading more than one thing at a time, although occasionally something grabs me and I obsessively read that one thing until I’m finished. Not the case right now…
Let me just note that those are all April issues of my favorite magazines that I’m just now getting around to… which means that the May issues will probably be in my mailbox today. That’s how it goes.
The Language of Flowers is my book club’s pick for April. I’m enjoying it, but it’s a little dark. I’ll let you know…
I’ve had Grace for the Good Girl by Emily Freeman (do you read her blog? you should!) for several months and have just dug into it. I’m envisioning an afternoon or two on my back deck with this one. I love her writing style.
And by way of a disclaimer: one of my personal goals this year is to read more books. Last year much of my reading was online and I missed the feel of a book in my hand. So far, I’m doing well with this goal and loving it!
Nonetheless, I still do a fair amount of reading online and in addition to my favorite blogs, I’m enjoying these…
- Taming the grocery budget by shopping seasonal sales from Mavis at OneHundredDollarsaMonth.com.
- Responding to hurt by Lisa Terkeurst.
- If you want to LOL, my friend Kirby’s response to a list on Huffington Post will do the trick. 🙂
And for something super fun to listen to, I loved this Simple Mom podcast, when Tsh is joined by The Nester! Two of my favorite gals to read AND listen to.
You’ll find me over at Mohawk Homescapes blog today, talking shades of sorbet… and I was trying to embed one of my pins here, but I’m wrestling with Pinterest’s new look/MO. Oh well. Click here to check out my sorbet board for some color inspiration!
Okay, back to my To Do List… enjoy your day!
ooh i want to read the language of flowers- i like books with a little darkness and edginess! and i have seen grace for the good girl and wondered about it.
I have read everything you have shown except Grace for the Good Girl and 1/3 of the way through The Language of Flowers….it takes me so long to get through a book!..never seem to sit still long enough….happy reading Heidi!!
I love love love to read! I will have to check out these two books. Thanks for sharing 🙂
I love reading, but I feel like I only have time in the summer and on Spring Break! Glad to hear you’re enjoying the weather! I would more if the pollen would go away!
