Howdy! We’re still socked in with gray skies and SNOW FLURRIES here in Atlanta, but I’ve got a thrifty find makeover that has me ready for spring — and I think it took about 10 minutes tops!
This was one of my February DIYs that had been waiting since about November, when I scored this wooden handled bin at the thrift store for a couple of dollars.
I used it in my booth through the holidays to hold books and holiday wares, and she looked cute and all with a burlap ribbon and some greenery. But I pulled her out in January to get a little makeover.
I had some French number stencils from Royal Design Studios and I figured this was a perfect project for them (I love their stencils by the way!).
I used simple white craft paint and blue painters tape to secure the stencil in place.
These have just been waiting for just the right project. With the wood being a little on the rough side and the slats, I knew I wouldn’t get a perfect look. Luckily I wasn’t looking for perfection — just personality. 🙂
Think I succeeded?
I popped her back into the booth and she sold almost immediately. Kinda wishin’ I’d hung on to this cute girl for my spring porch makeover!
The possibilities are endless with these stencils and I’ve got a few more projects for them coming up.
What have you updated from the thrift store lately??
