Book Page Christmas Tree {Easy DIY}

Since I’ve gone all cool gray in the Mom Cave, I decided to put some cool new Christmas decorations on the corner of my desk.

I don’t normally decorate in there at all– too much going on usually, but we’ve pared down furniture and accessories, simplified the function of the space a bit, and I decided a nice simple holiday touch would be fitting!

I put together this little grouping on the corner of my desk, where I can enjoy it while I work and I love it.  I crafted the little trees a couple of weeks ago, but as the decor in the rest of my house took shape, I couldn’t really figure out where they fit in.  Lo and behold, when I pulled out my Willow House Herald Angel, inspiration struck.  So here they all are, along with the little topiary I already had sitting there.  I just added a few tiny ornaments around the base to add a little bling.

These trees are super simple to make!  I had a stack of old paperbacks ready for donation, so I pulled two of different sizes, ripped off the covers and used them to make templates.

I just free handed mine because that’s how I roll. 🙂  I then traced the template onto the pages and cut about 10-12 pages at a time.  I found that to be the most manageable.  I did both trees while watching TV one evening.  I think they maybe took about 45 minutes, start to finish.

 They’re the perfect decor for  our home office/Mom Cave, a nod to the reading, writing, and projects that take place in that space.  In fact, I’m not so sure I’ll put them away after Christmas.
