Were you in? Did you join the ranks of thrifters all over America for I <3 Thrifting Day 2012?? I was so thrilled to be able to jump in briefly on Saturday, even though we'd just rolled in from the beach the night before and there was not a grocery item to be found in my refrigerator. Moms of little ones, you couldn't pull this off -- teenagers sleep until noon, so I knew I had a window of time Saturday morning to thrift and then hit the … [Read more...]
Shopping on Saturday & Some Thrifty Finds
We had a gangbusters weekend around here, working on my To-Do List, celebrating a few graduations, church, and prepping for my last week with the Little Ones. Whew! But I managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the Junk Day at Woodstock Antique Market on a quest for things for the booth and a fly-by of one of my favorite home decor stores, Casabella's. It was for sure a case of "the early bird gets the worm" at Junk Day... Those frames … [Read more...]
Shopping on Saturday…
Yes, one of the things I love about January is that it's much easier for me to find time to shop. You know, prowl around a little, scope and dig for a deal... that kind of shopping. Not the sprint-into-Target-with-your-milelong-list-and-only-20-minutes kind of shopping. Last weekend, I stopped into Queen of Hearts Antiques (Marietta) and Old Time Pottery. And I hit the jackpot for under $35 TOTAL. Remember my hotel silver piece I … [Read more...]
Shoppin’ on Saturday {A Classy Flea}
I was lucky enough to have some time on Saturday to go prowling around one of my favorite antique haunts, A Classy Flea. I have several things in my own home from this shop and have patronized them for years. This time around, I was on the hunt for a lamp for my mom and was also doing a little field research for an upcoming project (what a cool place to do research!!). Lots of goodies to be had... I don't know why I forget about … [Read more...]
Shop Small Saturday
Hi, friends! I stayed away from shopping yesterday, as we were travelling and then hosting a dinner party {don't ask}. I must confess, I felt not one urge to be in the midst of the Black Friday Madness! Today, however, as I crawl out from under a mountain of emails and try to take in some college football (Go Dawgs! War Eagle!), I am planning to do a little shopping small, too. I hope you support your local and online businesses, today and … [Read more...]
Shopping Voz {East Village, NYC}
I had a fabulous shopping experience in NYC a few weeks ago! You can read all about the fun restaurants and boutiques we patronized over on my personal blog (click HERE). But I wanted to share some eye candy from my very favorite stop, a cool vintage boutique called Voz, located in the East Village.The owners of Voz have created a hip shopping stop with carefully selected wares: vintage designer clothing and accessories, books, home … [Read more...]
Shoppin’ on Saturday {HomeGoods}
It was not on my busy agenda on Saturday, but who can drive by a HomeGoods store and NOT stop in? Quick check of my watch told me I could do a pass through... so I did. I love that their stock is never the same. Brilliant when you think about it, because seasoned HomeGoods shoppers know if you love it- buy it- it won't be there next time you're in.I spied lots of great goodies... didn't buy anything this time around, but it … [Read more...]
