Shopping on Saturday & Some Thrifty Finds

We had a gangbusters weekend around here, working on my To-Do List, celebrating a few graduations, church, and prepping for my last week with the Little Ones.   Whew!  But I managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the Junk Day at Woodstock Antique Market on a quest for things for the booth and a fly-by of one of my favorite home decor stores, Casabella’s.

It was for sure a case of “the early bird gets the worm” at Junk Day…

Those frames will be perfect painted and framing a few of the children’s book pages.  ASCP or some glossy bright color I’m thinking!

Artwork, a children’s chair, and a beautiful side chair just begging for a makeover.

This antique beauty will go in the booth as-is… love the character.

Vintage duck prints, the odd mason jar, a beautiful pillow cover, and a second antique chair that will find its home on MY front porch. 🙂

The vintage silverplate pieces were a total score and check out this green leather hassock!  I couldn’t leave her behind and am thinking she’s the perfect ottoman for the Mom Cave with a little slipcover.  But the green is awesome.  So very retro!

After I snapped up all of this at the outdoor “Junk Day” booths, I peeked at the booths inside and took a few inspiration pics…

I loved this script fabric backing the shelves of this hutch.  Filing that idea away for my aunt’s secretary that’s on the refurbishing list this summer.

And check out these gorgeous antique doors from Mexico!  This dealer had them on either side of his/her booth.

I have a thing (and an entire Pinterest board) for antique doors, gates, and shutters.  They just speak to me.

Once I left there, I dashed into Casabella’s to see what summer decorating inspiration I could find and I wasn’t disappointed!

Have you seen these??

Love these script Japanese lanterns!

And these mossy vines with little white lights?  What a gorgeous summer tablescape this would make…

This whole place setting caught my eye with the bird’s nest, but I also think this fabric-edged burlap table runner would be an easy DIY.

And these zinc letters are full of possibilities.  I think I’d have to spell “relax”. 🙂

Love this styling idea of a stack of nests…

And this one using stone pedestals, antique books and vintage silver.

And I was totally digging this pillow combination — perfect fresh summer colors and graphic patterns.

One of these mossy lambs almost came home with me… love the patina on these garden inspired pieces.

How about a driftwood fish for your summer decor?

Or this fun seahorse on a stick?   Think I’m channeling sea breezes…

Wow, no wonder I’m exhausted after our weekend!  I’ll be updating you on my Outdoor To-Do List progress later in the week.  It felt good to get a few things checked off!

How was your weekend?
