This has GOT to be the easiest project I’ve tackled in a while…
I spied these flower buckets in the dollar section at Target. There were only two left so I, of course, snagged them both. I was thinking I’d love to dress them up to put in my booth… or not. 🙂
I dug out my chalkboard paint and some stencils from my scrapbooking days. I’m thinking “chalkboard labels”, ripe for any message.
I used painters tape to secure the stencils, but it was still kinda tricky keeping the stencil pressed against the metal (just kinda– this is an easy peasy project, remember?).
I did one oval and one rectangular “label”… a little touch-up was required.
And here’s the finished product! I’m thinking these would make great teacher gifts or Mother’s Day gifts, especially filled with a bouquet of fresh blooms.
Choose your message… Happy Birthday, Thank You, BFF… endless possibilities! Project time total was 1 hour and 15 minutes, with the 1 hour being drying time. Is that a cinch or what??

See you Friday for March’s Favorites!
Very cool. My kind of project, done in almost no time. I could use a bucket like this to store my driftwood!
Heidi,
These are SO cute! I love the chalkboard idea. What a great project! I am totally pinning this!

Love this! What a great idea for gifts or just around the house – thank you!
I love that idea for gift giving and a great tablescape idea! thanks!
Great idea – and great for gifts. I’ll have to visit Target tonight.
Super cute!

Love this! I need some chalkboard labels on some mason jar lids, and I hadn’t thought about just painting them on. Getting out my supplies now…
Thanks for linking up!
Heidi what a great idea. I have never used chalkboard paint. But this is inspired. I could do this with my herb pots. P.S. I hope you will post this on today’s Thursday Favorite Things blog Hop. xo
This is the perfect cinchy project!! I love finding those last few deal items!! Thanks so much for linking up. 🙂
My flowers need more encouragement than “grow” so if I make some of these I will put “grow… dammit”.

I love metal buckets like that…but I have never thought of painting labels like that on them! Brilliant idea Heidi! Angie xo
Those are great! That is a super idea, I love those flower buckets.
Simple and classy, I absolutely love it! I’ve been fiddling about making my own chalkboard paint so I’ll try it on metal.
