July’s Favorite Things

I have no idea where the summer has gone.  But I’m pretty clear on where I have gone!  Hmm… Lake Blue Ridge GA (twice), Lake Rabun GA, Eufaula AL, Destin FL, Huntsville AL, and Albany GA.  Lotsa travel, people.  The hubs likes to pick up and go. 🙂  We’ve had a busy summer and it’s already winding down… soon I’ll be brushing up on my curriculum and brainstorming bulletin boards for my classroom.  Yikes!  This week it’s all about the boys… orientations and schedule pick-ups and (gasp!) senior portraits!

Forgive me while I pull a Scarlett O’Hara… I won’t think about that today;  I’ll think about that tomorrow.

I’m still dwelling in July and July was full of fun stuff, so here are my favorite things from the past few weeks. 🙂

1.  Cousins…

Last year, my kids and cousins took this photo on their annual beach trip.

This year they took this one, in honor of sweet Kaely, whom we lost on April 13th to a drunk driver.

I love this.  Then we were joined by our young cousins from Austin and had some crazy fun times…

Good family times. 🙂

2.  Successful thrifting!

thrifty finds

I love thrifting day 2012

And one of my all-time favorite scores from this past weekend…

Does this ROCK or what??

3.  Fresh coats of paint.

Bloggers Without Borders dining room

Amazing what a difference this makes, no??

4.  Finishing Touches.

Stay Calm and Pray On

So nice to have the porch finished!!

5.  A great book.

If you haven’t read this one (or The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), you are missing out.  Excellent writing (take THAT Fifty Shades of Grey!) and a riveting plot.  I’ve burned some midnight oil with this one.

And there you have it!!  Hope y’all have a wonderful Wednesday… and happy August to you!
