Whew, my week is busy busy with student evaluations going on, lots of appointments and doings for the family, and trying to finish up a new furniture makeover. Thanks so much for the awesome feedback on my Small Space Project! I’m eyeing the spaces that will be my victims this weekend! Don’t forget to send me your own before and after organization projects to share! I’ve also shared some tips over at Mohawk Homescapes blog on keeping your New Years’ goals/resolutions intact. And now that I’ve floated that out there, I need to keep myself accountable, too. 🙂
After finally getting my Christmas decor put away, I was ready to give my mantel a fresh look that could take me through the next couple of months…
I wanted to keep it simple, but warm so I pulled in some golds and browns with a pop or two of red. And look who’s front and center…
I just can’t quit my brass pheasants, and that little cardinal needed to keep them company. I love watching cardinals in the winter time!
I also love some mercury glass and little snowy glitter for winter, so I left these pieces from my Christmas mantel.
And added some texture with these antique and vintage books and that crackle glass ball. Those sweet little votives are the perfect metal and glass element to tuck in anywhere.
Of course I reserve the right to add/subtract things at will… maybe some succulents in a silver piece?

Have you revamped your mantel for winter??
Enjoy the day, peeps!
Beautiful! Says winter, but not Christmas. Perfect. 🙂
Oh such a beautiful mantel Heidi…and I wouldn’t quit those pheasants either…love how you always mix the textures so beautifully!…yes, that mantel can take you through a couple of months; however, knowing you..I am sure we may see a change or two!!
Your mantel is so pretty! Is that mirror the one from Ballards? I have two of the smaller ones in my entry way. I have done my mantel but still need to tweak a little. Thanks for the inspiration.
Your winter mantel is just lovely Heidi! The layering of the mirror with the prints is beautiful. 🙂
