Friday Wrap Up

Good morning, friends!  I’m back again this week to just wrap up and also to say — THANKSGIVING???  It feels really early this year, or maybe I’m just behind again?  I think since I haven’t been doing any decorating and recipe posts, this totally snuck up on me.

Except that we hosted over 100 grandparents at Legacy this week for our annual Grandparents Brunch!  This is a pre-Thanksgiving tradition that we carried over from the school we were part of before.  And I have to say — it’s WORK, but it blesses so many people — including all of us — that I’m always so thankful we go the extra mile.  The grandparents get to see for themselves where their little grandbabies spend their mornings and meet the teachers and staff, enjoy handprint cards, and a lovely spread that our moms put together.  It’s just a joyful time and such a great way to kick off the holiday season.

This morning I’m lounging, catching up on email, and doing a bit of online shopping before I do some Legacy work and run errands.  It was decadent to sleep in just a bit and get a leisurely start to the day!  I’ve pretty much nailed down all the gifts I still need to purchase — YIKES!  #chaching  But luckily I’m a year-round shopper so I had a good head start on it again this year.  I have to ship the vast majority of our gifts so I try to have as much done by Thanksgiving as possible.

This deal at Sole Society caught my eye in particular… two awesome gifts, each under $50.

On sale for $49.95

On sale for $29.95

I noticed there are SO many online sales going on right now — I guess Black Friday is now somewhat obsolete since retailers with an online presence can start offering their deals whenever they want?

I’m so looking forward to having next week “off” — I’ll still be working some of course because when you run your own business, especially a non-profit during giving season, you’re really working all the time.  But it is a labor of love and some of it I can do in my pjs from my couch. #forthewin  We will be traveling back to South Georgia of course, but the hubs has covered that this weekend so I can continue my holiday prep and get some things done here on the homefront.  Plus my youngest will be home from school late tonight so I’ll get a little one-on-one time with him.

I’ll pop back in next week with a round up of some of my favorite things from 2017 that might just make good gifts for someone in your life.  I also have a Pinterest board of Gift Ideas that i add to throughout the year if you’d like to see what’s caught my eye.  For now, I’ve got to get myself moving so I wish you a wonderful weekend!  And I’m curious if you’ve started your Christmas shopping, too?  Almost finished?  Haven’t started?

See ya later, friends…
