Howdy! Hope y’all had a delightful weekend… the hubs went off to work today relaxed and happy after a fun-filled weekend with friends and our Peeps. Fish frying, deck sitting, cocktail sipping, poolside lounging… we did it all. And lots of laughter and chatting. Such a great way to celebrate Father’s Day!
I polished off my summer mantel in preps for the fish fry, so thought I’d share while the hydrangeas are still fresh…
I love how it took on a coastal vibe when all was said and done! I kept it really simple this year…
The blue glass jar is from Joss & Main (click HERE for an invitation!).
The seaside oil painting was purchased at an art auction several years ago and remains one of my favorites! Reminds me of my daughter at that age. The blue mason jars were scored at a flea market last year.
The little votives are an old Southern Living at Home product… I love them! I got the green glass fishing float at Scott’s last year. I keep planning to get down there to pick up some more!
The map candles were a fun DIY two summers ago. Click HERE for the tutorial. The wooden candlestands came from Target several years ago.
These just make me happy!
Fresh and simple! I got lots of compliments on the new paint color, too. We keep remarking how much bigger the room feels!
How are you decorating your mantel for summer? Have a great Monday, y’all!
I don’t know why, but i have the hardest time decorating my mantel. I have no idea what to put up there. I don’t like alot of busy artwork, no clocks for me either. i have a very blah and boring piece of art leaning up there at the moment, and I cant stand looking at it anymore. I have tried candles, pottery, vases, but nothing seems to work. Guess I have to keep trying.
For years we had our TV over the mantle and I just hated it there. it made decorating so hard! Well, we finally took it down and I have my mantle back! Right now I have it all decorated for the 4th of July! My daughter gave me a blue jar just like yours for Mother’s Day. Now I know where it is going to go. We also have many blue Mason jars my husband scores when he is land surveying around old homesteads. We have lots of old bottles that way. Love the mantle! It looks great for summer!
