In Case You Missed It {May}

I had to chuckle when I remembered writing about how crazy my month of May would be and that you might not see much of me on the blog during that month... ha!  I'm so thrilled to be into June when I can breathe a little, take stock of what projects I'd like to accomplish this summer, and catch up on blogging and reading. In case you missed some of these May moments, here's a look back! We squeezed in a lake getaway to recharge before … [Read more...]

DIY Burlap Moss Vases {a Dollar Store Project}

I love the Dollar Store.  A brand new one just opened up near my house and I could get lost finding great deals in there.  It was my first stop when I was preparing for my preschool Moms' Tea -- on the hunt for those simple glass cylinder vases.  I had a vision for this project... These were a big hit with my moms, especially since three of them got to take one home. :) Here's the how-to! Supplies you'll need: glass cylinder … [Read more...]

Celebrating our Moms {Preschool Moms’ Tea}

I'm still alive, with a nasty head cold to show for my crazy week.  But yesterday was a sweet and special day at the preschool, when we hosted our moms for our annual Moms' Tea.  It was simple fare of cupcakes, tea, and coffee, but they enjoyed taking it all in.       The brown books are scrapbooks of art projects from the school year -- one for each month -- plus a couple of sweet little Q & As … [Read more...]

DIY Mirrored Pumpkin {Neutral Fall Table Details}

I'm so enjoying this touch of fall in my newly painted and decorated dining room! The traditional fall colors just wouldn't feel right in this space, so I broke out my white ceramic pumpkin I bought at Target several years ago, and a spray-painted dollar store pumpkin I shared last fall.  I added in some silk ivy on my silver footed tray and the French sheet music candles I made for Valentine's Day.  The vellum has a beautiful warm creamy … [Read more...]

Good Friday To You {This ‘n That}

Easter is upon us, friends!  I love what this holiday symbolizes: hope, new life, new beginnings. My dining room table is covered in supplies for various projects in the planning stages (can you say "crafter's ADD?"), so I did not do an Easter tablescape this year.  Well, that and I've been obsessed with getting my kitchen finished up.  Last year I pulled this one together quite simply, so you can read all about it HERE. Someday I'll be … [Read more...]

Easy Winter Table

I hate to admit it, but my dining room table typically functions as a dumping ground... for school projects in process, gifts that need wrapping and/or mailing, items that need a landing strip before being put away. I know-- not very stylish or organized! But several times a year, I get the urge to make my dining room look like... well, a dining room. A clean, quiet, decorated dining room.I was thrilled when my new mercury glass candleholders … [Read more...]
