Well, it's back to reality after an incredible time at the beach and a crazy busy week of work and celebrating!  Today, I'm beginning a new feature here at Decor & More: an Inspiring Blogger Interview!  I figure y'all listen to my own ramblings often enough and in the interest of... well, interest-- and expanding my little blog's horizons, I thought I would begin sharing interviews with some of my favorite inspirational bloggers once a … [Read more...]

What I Want My Blog to be When It Grows Up {Happy Blogiversary to Me!}

Time sure flies when you're having fun!!  It's hard for me to believe I started my decor blog two years ago... I have a personal blog that's been in place for a while and had an idea to start a decor blog that would complement my Willow House website and give me greater flexibility in content, posting, and interaction with my readers.  Woo hoo!!  Look at us now!  I love this little space I've carved out with our awesome new look (thanks Aimee at … [Read more...]

A Pinch Me Moment: NYC and DVF

I jetted up to NYC over President's Day weekend to get a little "girl" time (it was GREAT!) and had one of those "pinch me" moments on Sunday night.  Amy and I were wandering in the Meat Packing district (isn't that what everyone does when they visit NYC??) as it got dark.  This was a new zone for me, so i was taking in all the brick streets and old warehouses turned hip restaurants and bars.  She wanted to show me the High Line, a new greenspace … [Read more...]

I Can’t Resist: Spoonflower.com

I'm working on a new venture I'll share with y'all next week (gotta have a full plate, you know!), but in the meantime, I wanted to share this with you... spotted in the pages of Country Living magazine. So the fabric caught my eye, of course, but what REALLY grabbed me is that this was generated by Spoonflower.com -- a site where you can upload your own design, photo, etc and CREATE your own fabric!  Is this AWESOME or what? I have a … [Read more...]

Loving: Collections

I'm jetting off to NYC today to have some girlfriend time with my BFF -- woo hoo!  After dealing (still) with our roof rat issue and taking care of all my boys/men, I'm ready for a pink apartment on the Upper East Side, sleeping in, Broadway shows, champagne, a little antique browsing, and lots of visits on the sofa. :) But don't worry, I'm not leaving you high and dry! I did a post a couple of weeks ago over at Fancy Little Things about … [Read more...]

And you can head to my personal blog to read my responses to 11 questions from my friend … [Read more...]

This ‘n That and January Favorites

Confession: I'm a little sad to see January go.  No, I'm not crazy, I promise!  I know many struggle with post-holiday let-down, gray days, cold weather, etc.  But as my family has grown and gotten busier, I've come to relish the down time that January represents.  It's a time to regroup, clean out your files and closets, eat a little better, sleep a little more, spend a little more quiet time with loved ones and a good book.  January is fresh … [Read more...]

Old House Love

I'm an old soul.  Even when it comes to houses.  I look for character, for the story, the history.  I love to read about or visit historic homes, study the architecture and flow of the home way back when.  And if it's been loved on and restored?  I'm in serious like.  One of my dreams has been to find an old house out in the country (away from Atlanta traffic!) and bring it back to life.  Well, with kids to raise and put through college, that's … [Read more...]

My 2012 Word of the Year

I've spent the last week or so back at work in the classroom and continuing the "de-Christmas-ing" process at home.  I always get the urge to clean and sort and purge at the same time I'm packing up holiday decor, so the process takes longer than it should.  This year took even longer than usual.  I've been reeling {still }from my crazy fall and the holidays and all in all feeling a tad overwhelmed.  I blogged about it here if you want the down … [Read more...]
