Five on Friday {Insta-Faves Edition}

Hi there, friends... January is just slip-sliding away, isn't it??  Registration at Legacy has been cranking and so another busy week is winding down. :)  I've been working away on my purging projects and will share a post on progress here soon.  I've also got a sweet little DIY coming you way... I know -- shocking, right??  But in the meantime, I wanted to share five of my faves from Instagram this week.  A couple of these are giving me some … [Read more...]

McGill Design Group (Monday Eye Candy)

Good Monday, friends!  I hope you had an amazing weekend and are ready for the week ahead.  We were on the go with my in-laws and busy prepping for the Legacy Golf Tournament coming up this Friday.  But I wanted to pop in today with a little eye candy for you... I stumbled across this image by McGill Design Group in my Instagram feed and oh lordy -- be still my heart. source So, as best I can tell, Plum Furniture is part of their interior … [Read more...]

In Case You Missed It {July}:: The Insta-version

August 1??  Oh am I fighting those end of summer blues as we get ready to start school on Monday.  Boo. Even though my July turned out to be on quiet side here on the old blog, I thought in the interest of keeping up I'd go ahead and recap it for you... just in case!   And just for fun, I'm throwing in Instagram photos, because they tell a most accurate story of my month. :) I shared this Waterlogue flag you can print out for your own … [Read more...]

Family Room Bookshelves: Refreshed

It's the proverbial One Thing Leads to Another, y'all.  Once I repainted my family room and put my summer mantel in place, my built in bookshelves were just crying out for a fresh look, too.  What about MEEEeeeee???  they were saying.  And since a student of mine last year ruined that phrase for me, I had to act.  #donteverwanttohearthatagain If you follow me on Instagram, you got a peek or two at the process.  And it is, indeed, a process.  … [Read more...]

Family Room Tour and To-Do List

Happy Friday, everyone!  I can't believe we're already wrapping up June... *sigh*... why do the summer weeks seem to fly by the fastest?  I'm looking forward to fun weekend IN TOWN, if you can believe it!   My "baby" boy leaves for Spain and Portugal with his church youth group in less than two weeks, so I'll be working on getting him ready to go, hopefully finishing up a booth project or two, and relaxing with some special girl friends (I'll … [Read more...]

Elephant Glam

Happy Monday, friends!  Whew -- what HAPPENED to the weekend??  Seems like I blinked and it was gone... BUT I finished up several projects I'll be sharing with y'all soon.  Woo hoo! Throughout the week I was working on a silent auction item for my youngest son's youth group.  They're fundraising for their pilgrimage to Spain and Portugal this July (jealous much?).  So I put together a fun spring home decor arrangement... Remember my No … [Read more...]

New Additions

Remember when I said how much I loved my winter decor?  I mean, I l-0-v-e-d the look.  Famous last words because I'm a perpetual tweaker. :)  And a few new additions have me loving my winter look even more. I posted about my One Kings Lane finds a few weeks ago.  Well, when they arrived I could hardly contain my excitement.  And promptly added them to the mix in the family room. Recognize the round vintage botanical?  How awesome is … [Read more...]

A Little Bookcase Love

Bookcases are hard.  If you're like me, you hit on a look you like and then eventually you start tweaking it a little here and there, until suddenly, you're not happy with it anymore.  Something's missing, or maybe there's too much? For several months I've been considering painting the inside of my family room bookcases.  I have lots of wonderful decorative pieces and books and they just weren't popping against the white.  … [Read more...]

Urn to Lamp {DIY}

Confession: my home is in serious disarray right now as we deal with a broken toilet induced flood in our finished basment, a faulty water heater, and ... gasp! ... termites.  Ugh.  Just as I'm counting down to out of town guests for my daughter's high school graduation in a few weeks!  We're trying to get on top of everything, but you can imagine!  All that to say that some of my planned projects this month have gone out the … [Read more...]

Bookcase Backgrounds

I've been contemplating painting the inside of my family room bookcase for the past two months.  Of course, being the redecorranging fanatic that I am, it looks different today than it does in this pic from a month ago (I know, I know...).  But I still want all my treasures to pop and am thinking color on the inside is the way to achieve this.realsimple.comelledecor.comReal Simple's tips vary from going one shade darker than your wall … [Read more...]
