Elephant Glam

Happy Monday, friends!  Whew -- what HAPPENED to the weekend??  Seems like I blinked and it was gone... BUT I finished up several projects I'll be sharing with y'all soon.  Woo hoo! Throughout the week I was working on a silent auction item for my youngest son's youth group.  They're fundraising for their pilgrimage to Spain and Portugal this July (jealous much?).  So I put together a fun spring home decor arrangement... Remember my No … [Read more...]

It’s the Armoire’s Fault… Among Other Things

Well, you know what they say about the road to you-know-where... I had high hopes in the DIY department.  I mean REALLY high hopes.  I had a holiday weekend staring me in the face, with the hubs out of town, and DIY supplies galore at my fingertips. And then the armoire sold. This mac daddy armoire in my booth space. And then a couple of hours later, this bench sold... And there were big gaping holes in my booth. So I … [Read more...]

Well, we're experiencing some technical difficulties with our Inspiring Blogger Interview, so I'll bring that to you as soon as everything is resolved.  :-P  Hate it when modern technology doesn't cooperate don't you?  Maybe the fact that yesterday was National Backwards Day (did you know??) has something to do with it! As a Friday "happy," I have the honor today of being a Featured Blogger over at Fancy Little Things today!  I was a regular … [Read more...]

DIY Mirrored Pumpkin {Neutral Fall Table Details}

I'm so enjoying this touch of fall in my newly painted and decorated dining room! The traditional fall colors just wouldn't feel right in this space, so I broke out my white ceramic pumpkin I bought at Target several years ago, and a spray-painted dollar store pumpkin I shared last fall.  I added in some silk ivy on my silver footed tray and the French sheet music candles I made for Valentine's Day.  The vellum has a beautiful warm creamy … [Read more...]

Are you sure you're ready? Are you really, really ready??? For this... I am … [Read more...]

Fleur de Lis Love {Mom Cave Update}

Does it seem like my Mom Cave is taking FOREVER to finish??  Well, it is.  I've been working on it off and on for about a year now.  But I'm pleased with the progress of late and feel like I'm in the home stretch.   One of the things I've had my eye out for is fleur de lis accents for the space.  I've always loved the fleur de lis image -- it reminds me of my time in New Orleans when I was immersed in the study of art, architecture, and … [Read more...]

$1.50 for New Treasures

Remember these? Nothing like a little of this... So you can end up with these...   I thought I would clean up the brass using Brasso, but when I got to cleaning and polishing, I noticed that several of the glass inserts were cracked in the corners and two flat out broke while I was working!  So I popped out all of the glass, grabbed my trusty spray paint and went to town. I LOVE the new finish on … [Read more...]

Taking a Shine to Pumpkins

I really wanted these.Sigh.  They were sold out online {which is probably a good thing}.  My decorating budget is slim pickings this year with one in college, but I simply cannot get on board with the warm and toasty pumpkin orange this year.So I decided to take a few ugly plastic-ish pumpkins and help them get their shine on-- with a little help from Krylon.The three little guys were in my fall decor stash from God-knows-when, but I … [Read more...]
