Greetings, friends! I hope you're enjoying this Christmas week... it is always one of my favorite times. The hub bub has died down and I can regroup, rest up, watch football and get organized for the new year. How about you? I need it more this year than ever. 2016 just about plowed me under -- so. much. happening. And while I make a point of choosing joy on a regular basis -- and there was plenty of that! -- there have also been some … [Read more...]
Christmas Prep is Underway…
Ok, so yes -- I'm a first-things-first kinda gal, but how can I pass up a coupon code for Christmas cards?? So I seized my moment... and may have strong-armed the college kid to get the tree put up. :) But I promise... no decorating... for now. :) Enjoy the day! Card with envelo Save … [Read more...]
I Had a Post Planned for Today
You know how that goes? Well, my good intentions did not pan out over the weekend. You see, on Friday we had our first annual Legacy Christian School Golf Tournament -- and we had dear friends from out of town here for the event. After running my legs off last week with last minute preparations, yesterday I felt like I had been run over by a golf cart. For pics of the event head to the Legacy Facebook page! And so, once our guests got on … [Read more...]
Life Lately…
Friends!! It's been FOREVER since I posted! This weekend was my first to truly catch my breath in quite a few weeks and I am so happy to be back and bringing you up to speed on life lately. It's been a whirlwind! But yesterday I took in some of the ceremonies and TV shows reflecting on September 11th... it's hard to believe that 15 years have passed since that terrible day. And I still heard stories I have never heard before -- of individual … [Read more...]
Five on Friday
Good Friday morning, friends. First of all, I am once again heartbroken by a terrorist massacre... how many of these must we see? My thoughts and prayers are with the people of France today. I can't even begin to comment further, but I know you share my grief over this latest attack. I intended to finish up my porch this week among other things, but alas Legacy projects and meetings took precedence. There is soooo much cooking right now to … [Read more...]
Five on Friday: Anniversary Edition!
Howdy, friends! The hubs and I have escaped to one of our favorite spots for the weekend -- Lake Rabun... we're celebrating 10 years of marriage/blended family today! So of course, that tops the list for today's Five on Friday. :) 1. The plunge... if you didn't already know, we got married at his aunt's home on Lake Rabun and jumped off the boathouse after saying our vows. Lots of wonderful memories from that special day! In ten … [Read more...]
Helllloooooo, Summer!
Hard to believe it but the month of May is history and we're in summer mode here in ATL. The irony is that during my teaching years I found myself in leisurely hog-heaven on June 2. This year however I think leisure will be hard to come by as we get Legacy ready to rock on August 10th. So I'm navigating new waters of having a hefty to-do list, no set schedule, and lots of summer time activities that may have to fall by the wayside. However, … [Read more...]
This ‘n That Monday
Hello, friends and happy Monday to you! I hope y'all had a great weekend. If you follow me on Instagram or we're friends on Facebook, you probably saw the fun time we had at the Kenny Chesney concert in Auburn AL! So fun on so many levels -- great friends, a beautiful day, a sweet ride over and back, and some AMAZING music in a happy place. Here's a few peeks... I needed this little 'getaway' for many reasons and it didn't … [Read more...]
Book Review: Raising Grateful Kids in an Entitled World
I had hoped to get this review up a week ago, but at last here it is... I have lingered in this book. I posted this photo a few weeks back when I was first digging into the reading and it got quite the reaction on Facebook. Apparently there are many of us parents struggling with the sense of entitlement that seems to reign in our current culture. You all know my kids are older -- millenials, most of them. And that word "entitlement" is … [Read more...]
This ‘n That Monday
Happy Cyber Monday, friends! Have you got your holiday shopping on yet? I have a few things I'll be ordering today, but for the most part I try to shop all year so the financial hit isn't so hard this time of year. :) The blogosphere is loaded with Gift Guides the past few days, and though I was tempted to put one together myself, I thought I'd just share a little randomness with you today. All 7 of us were together (briefly!) on … [Read more...]
