If you follow me on Instagram you saw a few peeks from our weekend fun in South Alabama on the Little Escambia Creek. A Little Housekeeping & Outdoor Living Inspiration
Hey there... anyone else tend to let the housekeeping go during busy times?? Please tell me I'm not alone... My default when things are hectic are go into management mode -- i.e. doing the bare minimum to keep things running. So when things slow down a bit I'm faced with a mountain of housekeeping. Filing, sorting, organizing, purging, cleaning. Ugh. It's so -- "un-vacation-y". Such is my world right now... but I did put my blinders … [Read more...]

I Can’t Resist: Threshold Thursday
Hey there, friends... I had every intention of posting more guest room progress this week, but... Ah the joys of high school sports! Your weekday evenings are not your own. :) Truthfully, though, it's been a blast watching him work so hard, improve his skills, have some fun and finish their season undefeated (My boy scored the final goal!). And not only do we have a team of good players (REALLY good players), we also have a … [Read more...]

Easy DIY Typography Planter (“Howdy!)
TGIF, friends! And Happy March to you! Today I'm sharing a super easy project. My favorite project from my Silent Auction home decor array is this planter. It just makes me happy. It's friendly. Now there's an adjective you don't hear much any more! But this little 'ole planter... she's friendly. So I thought I'd be a good neighbor and share this project. No rocket science involved. :) Since I was using what I … [Read more...]
Spring Decor Silent Auction Item (Meeting My No Spend Challenge)
My youngest son is fundraising for an upcoming pilgrimage to Spain and Portugal with his church youth group. This is my third pilgrimage in the last five years, so I'm experiencing a little fundraising burnout. Nonetheless, when they decided to do a silent auction and wine tasting this spring to help top off their funds, I agreed to contribute something for the auction, of course. The hubs and I will be on our Caribbean junket at the time of … [Read more...]
Before Fall Slips Away…
Confession: the hubs left to go hunting on Sunday and I've pulled out the Christmas tree. I know. It's not even Thanksgiving yet. But I couldn't help it. I had teenagers idling the week away and the urge to get Christmas rocking and rolling over took me. It's not up yet. And it's not decorated. But it's been dragged out of the the storage area in my basement, ready to go at any moment. And then this morning I was convicted. For … [Read more...]
Some Front Porch Fall Touches
Whew, are we reeling from a fun NYC weekend! We had amazing weather for most of it, and even the chilly drizzle on Sunday didn't dampen our fun. I'll be sharing some pics later this week, but here' s sneak peek at one of our outings... Before I left, I did a quick fall update to our front porch. I loved the summer look so much, it took me a while to get excited about changing it for fall, but I think I'm close to a … [Read more...]
Boo Y’all {Painted Porch Planter}
A few months ago, I scored a set of four painted distressed rectangular planters and I had an idea (or two) mulling around in my head. They're lovely, but I thought how fun it would be to paint a different message on each of them to greet visitors that happen to come to my front door. Last weekend, I decided to tackle one with a fun fall message: Boo Y'all. 'Cuz that's what we say here in Georgia. :) This one is a warm creamy color, … [Read more...]
