Hi friends! I'm enjoying some out-of-town time with the hubs and some dear friends this week, celebrating the 4th. It's HOT HOT HOT, but we're immersing ourselves in a spring-fed "creek"... if you follow me on Instagram you know of what I speak! I wasn't sure I'd be able to pull this post together, as I wasn't particularly intentional about taking note of things I learned last month. But after mulling it over, some things swam to the … [Read more...]
Hello, Summer!
Once again, I didn't mean to be gone so long! The end of the school year got totally away from me, which led to me being brain-dead for a couple of weeks. Then my site needed some server updates so here we are -- halfway through June and a month into my summer "break." So far, it feels a little like a break, but I'm still working every day. The administrative part of running the school and Board of Directors is never ending, actually. … [Read more...]

Hi friends, I'm having a hard time believing Easter is upon us! I don't know where the time goes, but I take comfort in knowing I'm not the only one. :) I had a nice productive/super busy Spring Break last week and then traveled to Texas for a memorial service. The bonus, of course, was spending some unexpected time with my parents, siblings, and niece/nephews. But I have to confess I am DRAGGING this week. I happen to have a weekend at … [Read more...]
What I Learned This Month… March
I seem to have lost the month of March somewhere... anybody else?? We are finally enjoying some spring-like weather here in ATL (though today will be chilly and cloudy), and the days upon days of rain are hopefully behind us! Since I last posted a lot has gone on -- some good, some not so good, but isn't that the way? We find ourselves once again in a season of change - some good, some not so good. But we persevere and try to be present and … [Read more...]
What I Learned this Month: February Edition
I'm not quite sure how we got to March so quickly - I know February is the shortest month but gee whiz! We've had the strangest weather the last few months -- excessive rain and wild temperature fluctuations. It's got me feeling unsettled as we head into spring storm season. Time to get that tornado drill done at the preschool! I tried to get this post up on Friday, but my server was down, so better late than never, right? … [Read more...]
Thoughts On… A Measured Response
Welcome to Monday, friends! I hope you're week is off to a good start! This has been rattling around in my brain lately in various forms, so I hope you'll bear with me for some thoughts. I've become acutely aware that I probably pay too much attention to the news these days. I've begun to long for the days of reading the daily newspaper and tuning in to the six o'clock news while making dinner for the family as the extent of my news … [Read more...]
Word(s) for 2019
I'm a little late to the party on a word for the year this time. Early in January I saw all manner of bloggers choosing their Word of the Year, and I have to confess I was envious. Admittedly my WOTYs are more readily apparent some years than others. Once in a while, I'll see it, read it EVERYWHERE. Sometimes it's a more drawn out process of finding it through prayer and reflection. Last year, I abandoned it all together. This year I … [Read more...]
What I’ve Learned in January
February 1st, y'all. It crept up on me this year... there are so many people that feel like January drags on, but it flew by this year. Maybe because in January I ENJOY hunkering down and reading/binge-watching/resting. But January is also busy at school -- each day full of tours for prospective families and registration for next school year -- yes, NEXT school year! Also, quarterly meetings to prep and conduct, lots of planning, etc. So my … [Read more...]
Friday Wrap Up
Good morning, friends! I'm back again this week to just wrap up and also to say -- THANKSGIVING??? It feels really early this year, or maybe I'm just behind again? I think since I haven't been doing any decorating and recipe posts, this totally snuck up on me. Except that we hosted over 100 grandparents at Legacy this week for our annual Grandparents Brunch! This is a pre-Thanksgiving tradition that we carried over from the school we were … [Read more...]
Getting Back in the Saddle
Hello, friends... long time no see. I have missed you all and have started this post about 20 times over the last several weeks, only to be once again at a loss for words. Yikes. At the beginning of October, we lost my brother-in-law suddenly to a heart attack. And my mother-in-law did not fare well in the aftermath of that loss. We have spent the last several weekends (Thursday nights through Sundays) in South Georgia helping her navigate … [Read more...]
