A Few Fall Touches

I've been home so little recently it feels awesome to be catching up on some things around the house... you shoulda seen the stack of mail/paperwork I plowed through on Monday!  I don't know why, but fall always seems to fly by and so I'm working extra hard to savor these couple of weeks of sweet weather and a bit of time to enjoy my house.  And probably some furniture painting, too. :) I refreshed the dough bowl on my coffee table with a mix … [Read more...]

Fresh Fall Mantel

fall mantel 2015

Hello, friends and Happy first of October!  It's beginning to look a bit like fall around here, so I wanted to share my fresh fall mantel with you today.  For some reason, I always begin my fall decorating on the mantel and then the rest of the house follows... The tweed pumpkin came from the dollar bins at Target (I know, right?);  white pitcher is from Decor Steals, small Dollar Store pumpkins are chalkpainted;  the leaf watercolor … [Read more...]

Ready for Fall?

Fall 1

Hello, friends!  I hope you all had a super Labor Day weekend... we spent some good time chilling on our deck and watching football (woo hoo!!) and a little US Open tennis.  So nice to recharge at home this year. I'm usually a little of a hold-out when it comes to fall... I just adore summer and everything that goes along with it!  But this year I think I'm actually kind of ready for fall.  Maybe because Labor Day fell a little later?  Maybe … [Read more...]

buffet cover

Well, here we are!  The last day of August... how did that happen??  This was a summer of sporadic posting, some story-telling, and a few technical issues here on the blog that I'm still trying to figure out.  May be time to call in a professional! #ugh Today I'm going to recap my posts from July and August... just in case you missed something! I shared my favorite Fourth of July projects and recipes from years past, along with this … [Read more...]

Hey there!  I hope your 4th of July holiday was awesome and your week is going well... something about long weekends always makes me want just one more day.  We had a really good one -- lots of family time and the hubs and I even squeezed in a lunch date. This week I've been back in project mode!  If you follow me on Facebook, you caught me working on this piece... As soon as I get her properly photographed I'll share... she's going … [Read more...]

I know you thought I'd given up the ghost here at Decor & More... and truthfully, I had to for a time.  But I wanted to pop in today on this lovely spring day and say hello and I've missed you!  I've got a huge work project I'm working on but can announce soon and I'm so excited to share with you all what has had me working 60 hours a week for the last three months.  So stay tuned for that! Needless to say, my home projects have been … [Read more...]

Come on, SPRING!

Spring mantel tulips and tray

We just had the most delightful weekend here in the ATL -- chilly mornings, mild afternoons, and -- most importantly -- sunshine!  I didn't mind spending hours at the soccer field because... well -- sun!  Goodness it did wonders for my mindset.  And it got me craving a little spring brightness in my abode, too. Even though I just refreshed my winter mantel a couple of weeks ago, let's face it.  Those first few pretty spring days just get my … [Read more...]

Declutter and Donate: My 2015 Lenten Discipline

Several years ago, I abandoned the idea of "giving something up" for Lent every year.  You see I was always landing on wine or chips and salsa or some such sacrifice that ended up ringing hollow in the spirit of Lent. It's a time for reflection, repentance, and self-examination, after all.  Five years ago I challenged myself to list 1000 gifts during Lent, after reading Ann Voskamp's One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You … [Read more...]

Five on Friday (and my Winter Mantel)

winter mantel cover

Friday, y'all... and I am so thankful.  This was another week of meetings and prayer as my precious school is being put through the ringer.  I can't go into all the details yet, but let me just say: Satan is alive and well.  I have never experienced spiritual warfare before, but I'm enduring it now.  So if my posts are a bit scarce for a while it is because I am drained.  BUT, I am optimistic and continue praying and seeking joy in my … [Read more...]
