August 1?? Oh am I fighting those end of summer blues as we get ready to start school on Monday. Boo. Even though my July turned out to be on quiet side here on the old blog, I thought in the interest of keeping up I'd go ahead and recap it for you... just in case! And just for fun, I'm throwing in Instagram photos, because they tell a most accurate story of my month. :) I shared this Waterlogue flag you can print out for your own … [Read more...]
Family Room Gallery Wall
Woo hoo, y'all! It's up -- I spent a good chunk of yesterday working on my gallery wall and I have to say, I'm so pleased with the results. Yesterday I shared some inspiration pics and this one from Love Grows Wild stood out in particular... Maybe because our sofas are similar in style and color, and our wall color is close as well, but I just loved this look. Let's just take a look back so we have a sense of the … [Read more...]
Watercolor Initial (DIY)
I'm not gonna lie... ever since I read Emily's tutorial on watercolor letters, I knew I wanted to give this a go! I've got thoughts of a new gallery wall over the sofa in my family room (and probably one in my foyer, too!) and thought this would be a fun addition. Plus, I just was itching to paint. #whatsnowdaysdotome Since I wasn't sure how this would turn out, I took only a few pics, but I'll try to explain my process as best I can. … [Read more...]
A Gift of {in}Mercy
One of my favorite things I did last fall was participate in (in)Mercy, the (in)courage project to raise funds for and awareness of the important, life-saving work of Mercy House Kenya. It was amazing to watch God show up as YOU were His hands and feet! We far exceeded our fund-raising goals and the good work over there is growing by leaps and bounds. The wonderful folks at (in)courage sent me a glorious "thank you" in the form of products … [Read more...]
DIY Heart Canvas
Well, I caved a little on my "no decorating for Valentine's Day" stance over the weekend. You see, I had a vision. Does that ever happen to you? And my paint brushes were beckoning. And, after all, didn't I say that painting more was on my personal goals list for 2014? So I got a little bit busy. :) I already had everything on hand for this project (yay!) and this Christmas inspiration piece had been tickling my mind for a couple … [Read more...]
I <3 You...
T.G.I.F. What. a. week. Parent conferences are not for the faint of heart, I have to say. Maybe someday I can document all the interesting challenges I run across with parents, but for now -- God gives me the weekends to regroup. :) We are in the deep freeze here in the Deep South... and while I know you hardy folks from Northern parts think we are big wimps. when you're used to January temps in the 50's and not the teens it's quite a … [Read more...]

Guest Room Details: Artwork
Happy Monday! We're back from a fun-filled weekend in Eufaula and gearing up for our next adventure later this week: deep-sea fishing in the Gulf. Did I mention my husband likes to be on the GO when I'm off for the summer???? Anyway, I've got a few days to get some things done around here, including sharing more of my guest room makeover with you. :) Here's a little secret about the artwork in my guest room: I hardly spent a … [Read more...]
Guest Room Progress…
Have you ever noticed how a making up a bed makes a bedroom feel more pulled together? Things are slowly coming together in the guest room, but I was totally jazzed when I got the sheets, blankets, and pillows on the beds. I'm going with simple white sheets and cotton blankets for now... I've always loved that summery look. I'm still on the lookout for shams... I'm thinking a Euro sham, because the beds are actually tall, even though … [Read more...]
