Monday was a blur, so here we are Tuesday! If you follow me on Instagram you know why, but more on that later... I realized I never showed you what I scored at the Country Living Fair last month, so today's your day! Of course those vintage oversized flash cards were immediately calling my name... they weren't cheap, so I chose my two favorites. The world map paper? There are actually two of them there... one project for my classroom … [Read more...]
In Case You Missed It {October}
Holy Cow. October flew by in a hurry, didn't it? My pause did not last nearly as long as I'd hoped, but I'm thankful there was a bit of one in there. Here we are in November and the slide into the holidays is on its way! I think I'm actually ready to get some Christmas crafting going soon... is that scary or what? ;-) Unfortunately when I look at our calendar for the month, I'm not seeing much time to spare! Guess I'll have to get clever, … [Read more...]
Country Living Fair 2013
Y'all. What a great - busy fun - weekend we had! Some long time friends came in town and the girls spent Saturday taking in the Country Living Fair at Stone Mountain! Let me just say, if you ever get the chance to take this in... DO IT! We were blessed with a beautiful day and were amazed at the scope of this event! If this tower of pumpkins and gourds doesn't put you in the fall spirit, I don't know what will! If you … [Read more...]
Fall in the Kitchen
Hump Daaa-aaayy! Had to go there... :) Before I launch into lots of photos of my kitchen fall decor, I have to share this preschool funny from Monday... In honor of Columbus Day, we were discussing Christopher Columbus and his journey across the Atlantic Ocean. The children's book I have about Christopher Columbus has an illustration of him at his desk, with a map, compass, hour glass, and armillary sphere. Of course there were questions … [Read more...]
Fall in the Foyer
Finally Friday! I had two glorious furlough days early in the week and it was great to catch up on a few things around the house and put some finishing touches on my fall decor. I sure do love to have a day or two to just piddle around the house every so often... :) We've got a super busy weekend ahead celebrating my MIL's 80th birthday, a houseful of guests, soccer games, and other to-do's, but the weather will be awesome and we intend to … [Read more...]
DIY Monogram Pumpkin
A couple of weeks ago, I went on a pumpkin painting tear. If you follow me on Instagram you were witness to it all. :) It's no secret that I'm no fan of bright orange pumpkins but I love the different shapes and sizes and the way pumpkins just speak of fall. So I pulled out my chalk paint and some brushes and got to work on a selection of faux pumpkins to use in decorating my booth for fall. I used Annie Sloan chalk paints in Old … [Read more...]
DIY Burlap Flag Bunting
Good morning, friends! I actually had a fairly relaxing weekend and am ready to enjoy another busy week -- how about you? I spent time with my kids and a sweet neighbor poolside, got workouts in both days, enjoyed catching up on some reading and blogs, and worked on finishing up the console table. Last night we took in two kids for the night while their parents finished up moving out of their house and into an executive apartment while they … [Read more...]

Happy Monday, y'all! We enjoyed a soggy weekend at the lake, but it was still pretty amazing and I got some seriously good sleep... something about the mountain air and being on the water, I'm thinking. :) I took some pics and will share with you later this week... including a new book I'm reading that I can't put down! Stay tuned... I'm so pleased today to welcome Green Acres Outdoor Living as a sponsor here at D&M! I'm especially … [Read more...]
