In Case You Missed It {June}

I'm having a hard time believing we're in July now!  My summer is flying by... and I really want it to just sllllooooowwww down a bit!  We were on the go in a major way last month, but I still squeezed in quite a few projects.  Hopefully I can get to even more in July -- and there are some fun things in store here on the blog in the next few weeks! In the meantime, here's a recap of June here at Decor & More... 1. Guest Room Details: … [Read more...]

6 Ways to “Go Vintage” (A Guest Room Makeover)

Happy Friday!  We're off and running toward another busy weekend -- we don't let grass grow under our feet during the summer!  I was working in my booth yesterday and had a customer ask how to incorporate a vintage piece into their decorating and it got me thinking someone else might need similar suggestions.  So today I'm sharing 6 ways to "go vintage"  in your home decor, courtesy of my recent guest room redo! When I embarked on the guest … [Read more...]

A Little Housekeeping & Outdoor Living Inspiration

Hey there... anyone else tend to let the housekeeping go during busy times?? Please tell me I'm not alone... My default when things are hectic are go into management mode -- i.e. doing the bare minimum to keep things running.  So when things slow down a bit I'm faced with a mountain of housekeeping.  Filing, sorting, organizing, purging, cleaning.  Ugh.  It's so -- "un-vacation-y". Such is my world right now... but I did put my blinders … [Read more...]

New Project Alert: The Guest Room

Today I'm headed to Athens to see my daughter, but I owe you a new project announcement, right? I love new projects.  And I'm so happy to have Spring Break next week to jump start this one! I can't believe I'm showing you this sad sad space. Let me explain before you start hating on me!  This used to be my older son's room.  Last summer, he moved into my daughter's (much larger) old room after SHE decided to move downstairs into my … [Read more...]

Thoughts: Mary on the Day After

An unusual post, since I don't normally post on the weekends, but this weekend is special... tomorrow is the beginning of the story with the discovery of the empty tomb. But what about the day in between?  In between that awful day when He was hung upon the cross and the day He rose?  Two years ago I penned a post on my personal and family blog about just that, and I thought I would share those thoughts with you today... That was her … [Read more...]

Catalog Finds: Grandin Road

I love it when early spring decor catalogs start arriving in my mailbox.  Yes, I am an online shopper, but sometimes perusing the old-fashioned paper catalog can't be beat.  Like when you're sitting on a beach somewhere... just sayin'. ;-)   It's been a while since I'd thumbed through a Grandin Road catalog, but I found some really cool things this time around so I thought I'd share. Enjoy!   Source: grandinroad.com … [Read more...]

Happy Monday, friends!  While I'm sunning myself and enjoying my husband's company, I'm so happy that a wonderful blogger is here to keep you company! I've been bloggy friends with Megan for a over a year and I love her thrifty ways, her incredible printables, and her sweet family that is going from 4 to 5 in a matter of weeks!  Yikes -- I don't know how she does it all.  But she's here to share her thoughts and hopefully inspire a few of … [Read more...]

TGIF… headed to Scott’s. :)

Well, I was hoping to have a couple of projects finished, photographed, and ready to share today.  Not quite. :) Wax is drying, burlap is cut/staged/ready, lampshade is poised for her makeover.  But it was a crazy week on the home front and at school, so I got nothin'.  In fact, I took a nap when I got home from school yesterday. It was that kind of week. This should be a banner weekend for those 90% projects, though, so I'll have some … [Read more...]

Seeing Green

In honor of my No Spend Month I'd thought I'd touch on the Pantone color of the year... emerald green!  After all it's the color of money, no? ;-) It was catching my eye back in December when I fell prey to this lovely in the aisles of Target. In my defense, my kitchen rug was literally falling apart and I knew a beautiful antique rug wasn't going to be in my budget for quite some time.  But $17.99?  THAT I could do.  By the way, these … [Read more...]
