Home Goals 2014

Happy Monday, y'all!  We're supposed to be back at work today, but the frigid temps and flurries prompted an optional work day... woo hoo!  Maybe I'll actually get my Christmas decor put away today. Anyhoo, I made the mistake of pulling up my Home Goals 2013 post yesterday and actually laughed out loud!  Clearly, I need to revisit the goals list throughout the year so I don't fall prey to Home Projects ADD and flit from one thing to another … [Read more...]

A Look Back at 2013

Now that my chicks are back in the nest and we've had our little Christmas together, I can hardly believe 2013 is on its way out the door. It's been a year of highs and lows for my family, but God has been faithful and has grown all of us in unimaginable ways.  We're all looking forward to 2014 and I've been pondering that over the last week or so.    My home and personal goals are slowly crystalizing and I'll be sharing those here soon, along … [Read more...]

Christmas Home Tour 2013

Greetings, friends!  I'm here to share (at long last) my home tour of Christmas decor.    I had every intention of sharing this with you much sooner, along with a couple of easy projects, but God had other plans for me.   He found numerous ways to remind me that the season is not about the perfectly decorated front porch or the home that's completely pulled together for the holidays.  I shared a little of this over on Fancy Little Things on … [Read more...]

Christmas Mantel 2013

Happy Wednesday, y'all.  I'm trying really hard not to hit the panic button about all the packages left to wrap and ship... doesn't it figure that the week I need to get everything out is the week that all my peeps come home, soccer physicals must happen, dentist appointments all around, teacher dinner preparations, etc are all converging on the few days that comprise this week? Yowza.  There is still not a single ornament on my tree. And … [Read more...]

Set the Table for a Christmas Coffee (and a Rug Giveaway!)

Much as I enjoy a festive evening party, one of my favorite ways to celebrate the season with close friends is a Christmas Coffee.  I used to do this in conjunction with my Willow House business, but the simple formula works even better for a cozy get-together with a close pal or two.  And ever since I spotted some adorable Christmas plates and mugs at Tuesday Morning, I've been itching to pull together a Christmas Coffee tablescape to share with … [Read more...]

5 Easy Christmas Projects

First of all -- WE DID IT!  We've fully funded the second home for Mercy House Kenya!!   I have been humbled over and over by the amazing generosity of the online community through this project.  What a gift to participate in some small way.  And THANK YOU for your prayers, encouragement, and any and every contribution to the cause.  We are -- with God's help -- changing lives and futures, y'all!! We were on the go last week for the … [Read more...]

Easy Harvest Centerpiece

Well, while spending most of the weekend on and off the couch, I managed to photograph my simple harvest centerpiece to share with y'all.  In the nick of time for this rapidly approaching Thanksgiving holiday! We spend every Thanksgiving at my mother-in-law's,  so I don't do a big tablescape in my home.   But these sweet pheasants were beckoning this year, so I decided a simple kitchen table centerpiece was in order. :) I used things I … [Read more...]

In Case You Missed It {October}

Holy Cow.  October flew by in a hurry, didn't it? My pause did not last nearly as long as I'd hoped, but I'm thankful there was a bit of one in there.  Here we are in November and the slide into the holidays is on its way! I think I'm actually ready to get some Christmas crafting going soon... is that scary or what? ;-)  Unfortunately when I look at our calendar for the month, I'm not seeing much time to spare!  Guess I'll have to get clever, … [Read more...]

My Fall Front Porch (Finally!)

Hello, friends!  It's practically Halloween and I haven't shared my porch yet!  Actually, I'm not a Halloween girl... so the most that might get added to this would be a fuzzy felt spider and a plug-in jack o'lantern. My peeps are no longer interested in carving pumpkins... in fact, they'll all be "hanging out" with friends and not trick-or-treating tomorrow night.  The hubs will be out as well, so it looks like me, my bowl of candy, and my … [Read more...]
