Happy Monday, y'all... hope you're ready to tackle the week ahead! I had an awesome low-key weekend of getting things done, making some plans for projects, and a good bit of reading, too. The hubs was in a deer stand somewhere in South Georgia and the boys were all doing their own things, so I got a little "ahhhhh" time. :) Today I'm rolling out a project I've been contemplating since early Fall. I planned to implement it long before now, … [Read more...]
Home Goals 2014
Happy Monday, y'all! We're supposed to be back at work today, but the frigid temps and flurries prompted an optional work day... woo hoo! Maybe I'll actually get my Christmas decor put away today. Anyhoo, I made the mistake of pulling up my Home Goals 2013 post yesterday and actually laughed out loud! Clearly, I need to revisit the goals list throughout the year so I don't fall prey to Home Projects ADD and flit from one thing to another … [Read more...]
Vase Filler Ornaments {DIY}
Good morning, friends. Before I share this simple DIY, could I just ask for your prayers? I'm greeting this last week of school before the holiday break with a heavy heart. Troubling news of loss, illness, and setbacks has come our way from a variety of fronts and we are feeling overwhelmed with the pain, suffering, and struggles of those close to us and our own helplessness. My prayer list is lengthy these days... Last weekend, we were … [Read more...]
Set the Table for a Christmas Coffee (and a Rug Giveaway!)
Much as I enjoy a festive evening party, one of my favorite ways to celebrate the season with close friends is a Christmas Coffee. I used to do this in conjunction with my Willow House business, but the simple formula works even better for a cozy get-together with a close pal or two. And ever since I spotted some adorable Christmas plates and mugs at Tuesday Morning, I've been itching to pull together a Christmas Coffee tablescape to share with … [Read more...]

My Favorite Chalk Paint Projects
Happy Monday, folks! I'm digging out from yet another weekend away... this time it was a wedding and what a great time we had celebrating! I even squeezed in some antiquing and will show you my finds later this week! Back to reality now -- Open House prep for my booth, parent conferences at school, and the holiday To Do list growing by leaps and bounds. One of the things I've missed doing this fall is painting furniture... my schedule just … [Read more...]
In Case You Missed It {October}
Holy Cow. October flew by in a hurry, didn't it? My pause did not last nearly as long as I'd hoped, but I'm thankful there was a bit of one in there. Here we are in November and the slide into the holidays is on its way! I think I'm actually ready to get some Christmas crafting going soon... is that scary or what? ;-) Unfortunately when I look at our calendar for the month, I'm not seeing much time to spare! Guess I'll have to get clever, … [Read more...]
DIY Monogram Pumpkin
A couple of weeks ago, I went on a pumpkin painting tear. If you follow me on Instagram you were witness to it all. :) It's no secret that I'm no fan of bright orange pumpkins but I love the different shapes and sizes and the way pumpkins just speak of fall. So I pulled out my chalk paint and some brushes and got to work on a selection of faux pumpkins to use in decorating my booth for fall. I used Annie Sloan chalk paints in Old … [Read more...]
October Thoughts and September in Review
Ah, at last... October! Cooler days, chilly evenings, the ever-so-slow turning of the leaves here in the South... I am so ready for the pause that is October. August and September are the hectic back-to-school scurry and adjustments. November is the steady uptick in the schedule and way-too-soon holiday prep. But October? Maybe because August and September have left me wrung out and a bit broken, but October feels like a chance to … [Read more...]
